You're doing great! Embrace your pace is right. I tried to keep up in the first week but after a few days I knew it was impossible with work and my ability level. I also had some WIPs I needed to finish first to actually use them. I'm about halfway through Clue 1. I watched all the clue videos, though, and I'm glad I did because it's helping me keep the excitement going and not push the project aside indefinitely because I know how gorgeous it'll be when it's done.

I’m happy that you’re participating in the mkal, it’ll be fun to see how you progress! I’ve been watching a few other podcasters that are participating, and they seem to be enjoying themselves. So I’m really leaning towards starting this shawl (I’m not as experienced in knitting and I’m a slow maker in general) but it’ll probably take me over a year to finish 😄. Your colors look great together!

I'm knitting the amKAL along with you. I started just as clue 2 came out, andam doing the first brioche row of clue 2 at the moment. So far, nothing is difficult, and I have enjoyed knitting everything. But somehow I keep losing stitches so my stitch count is often out by 1 or 2 stitches. I count every row before starting the next one, so I start out right, but at the end of the row, I'm out again. It's so frustrating. I follow the instructions carefully too. I've only ever found one dropped stitch, which I picked up again. I'm pretty sure I've knit ghe shawl 3 times over. I'm about to think back the 5 rows of brioche that I did. The pattern looks perfect, but I'm out a stitch again, so the problem has to be at the beginning or end of the row.

I'm so afraid of the brioche. 😁 I appreciate you for watching! 💜

@QueensYarnBoutique it isn't as difficult as it appears, especially when you have to do the same thing for a long row. And Stephan is so good with his video demonstrations. That being said, I accidentally knit the wrong row and didn't want to frog back, so I kept on going, figuring the contrast would pop in the front rather than the back which was a complaint of a lot of people. It didn't. Somehow, I caused it to have alternate brioche knitting (contrast mohair, and main colour) on the front and alternating briosch purling on the back, so both show up equally and vividly. I like it a lot better than briosch is supposed to look, so I'm leaving it. The only thing I find difficult (other than accidentally getting on the wrong row) is forgetting to wrap the right direction, or doing a slip yarn over stitch instead of a knit together or purple together. Any problems I've had were caused by knitting when I was tired though. I just had to put mine away again because I made a couple of silly mistakes like that. I think if the rows were only 100 stitches or so long, there would be no mistakes. My mistakes tend to mostly start around the 250 stitch point when I sort of get hypnotized by the repetition. The stitches themselves aren't hard and are easy to read.

I love the colors you chose! It’s going to be so cute. I just started clue 2 not long ago, and yeah, learning some skills! 😅 I had to look up how to pick up a dropped brioche stitch. 😨🫣 But it ended up being easier than I thought. I think I’m moving along on this MKAL faster than others. It’s been fun!
