It's a shame... now that I might be in a position to take a few months off from my job, the C*VID is still prevalent and I seem to be too old to study at many of these schools. Hokkaido was always the favorite... so sad.

@@invalleria I lived in an apartment all the time that I was studying, but my classmates had a good experience living in the share house. also, you should keep in mind that the course can be a little slower than other schools ( at the end I quit because of that)

Hi, some schools have age limits (usually 30 years old) but many schools accept students of all ages so no problem!

Hi! You should still be able to find a part-time job, especially if you're attending this school as they should be able to help you find a job. However, be aware that the types of opportunities may be more limited compared to what you may be able to find in a bigger city like Tokyo.

Hi! Most of our schools offer hybrid classes to students who are currently in Japan. This means that some days the classes are held online, while some days the classes are held in-person. Hope this helps!

I'm really interested in this school, but I havent been able to find any reviews on it. I dont want to go there without any real knowledge from a past student. I just found out how some schools will try to cheat you. So if anyone can provide a link to reviews on this school, that would be so great.

Theo I think JLI was not absolutely terrible. They had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but were just very formulaic in their teaching approach. The latter, I came to understand it as common in most Japanese schools and it is just me who had trouble getting used to it. My biggest issue with JLI was that all office procedures were painstakingly slow. Most of the staff in JLI were just not eager to help, and they had no problem showing it to you. Also, I found that students and teachers alike were not very serious about what they were doing, hence the reason why teachers in JLI would constantly quit. After I left JLI, some of my friends that remained there told me of a rumour that one of the teachers quit because she got caught with a student. I don’t know whether it was true or not, but JLI definitely had a bad reputation about its male students, and I experienced it while there. Surprisingly, both the office staff and teachers were very helpful in Hokkaido Japanese Language Academy, which I think are some of the only few positives, though they often took their seriousness to the extreme. You just can’t win with Japanese schools..
