I'm a disabled veteran (non combat injured or wounded, just rode hard and put up wet after many decades in uniform). I never applied for a disabled veteran card or parking mirror hanger. Never applied for the driver's license that shows that I'm a veteran or a disabled veteran. Didn't take the money for it either although I could (they lost bank routing slips and I never sent them so I could get it with a little extra paper work). And I never park in veteran or disabled veteran parking. I have no issues with disabled vets getting respect and benefits earned but some guys carry it to the entitlement level and it makes me feel icky about it
