Used to have a go pod a few years back. It really is a fantastic little caravan. It was so easy to tow. Some caravans I’ve had you had to read up on what roads to take before hand. No such problem with this caravan. You can fit a microwave under the sink and the bed is not far off a king size. The only negative I can think of is the price. In 2016 we paid just over £8000. So it looks like the price has shot up. A swift base camp is now just a few thousand pound extra. We really did enjoy having this caravan.

Hi thank you for commenting yes price gone up and swift base camp is not much more than top of range of go pod but it’s still a great little van and great to hear your experiences with one

@@waynedexterhall5344 thanks for the info. I’m retired and single man of 72yrs ( divorced) had a van but fell out of love with it. Go pod would be perfect and would get me out of the house

I really like the GoPod! It looks simple enough for this little old lady to be able to handle alone! I will be giving it and my finances some serious consideration. Thank you for the demo and the information!

Over 4000 subscribers now Andy, well done. I’m really considering getting one of these as I’m on my own and camper vans are so expensive. What also appeals is that you can leave it on site and tour an area in your car (or on your bike of course.)

Hi and thank you - yes the Go Pod has a niche also check for used models at Redlion ask for Chris he is good salesman for the go pods - if you do get one please mention the channel - dead easy to tow and compared to a campervan cheaper as you say - let me know how you get on you can message through the caravan industry expert face book page - thanks for watching

A quick note about electric cars and towing capacity. The mid-range cars can tow between 1000kg and 1600kg caravans these days. These are £40 -60k cars mind you so well out of my price range but they will no doubt be on the market second-hand and much more affordable as used buys in a few year's time. My guess is that caravaners with deep pockets will be looking to buy cars like the Polestar 2 or an Ionic 5.
@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk3 жыл бұрын
Agreed John problem is towing may wear batterys sooner and how long will they last so buyimng a used electric vehicle may be - how old are the batterys how many charges etc as they loose power life over usage - fuel cell maybe the way
@presterjohn713 жыл бұрын
@@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk The battery issue is more or less over these days. They are lasting longer than even the best estimates of ten years ago. That's why Renault knocked the idea of leasing batteries on the head a few years ago. It wasn't worth it for them or the buyer. The average life expectancy of a petrol car is around 10 years (no idea where that statistic comes from as I see loads of 15-year-old cars around). A battery pack for an electric car will still be 80% efficient at 10 years. You know yourself that old petrol cars lose BHP over the years so both types of cars degrade to an extent. My only issue with electric is the high upfront cost. The second-hand market needs a good ten years to fully mature before an awful lot of people will be up for driving about in one.

Hmm, would love one of these but wondering if usually ok if someone has a company car/insurance....think these are only about 750kgs - it’s a new X1 but the spec doesn’t look like they pull much.
@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk3 жыл бұрын
Hi the go pod is ideal for most cars what you need to know is the cars kerb weight and towing limit which looks 1800 kgs so no problem there the kerb weight I have just checked model dependant is 1500/1800 kgs so should be plenty the how pod is easy to tow and handle
@ktpuss3 жыл бұрын
@@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk thanks, it has towing weight of up to 750kgs. Just checked height of the pods - our big garage has height of around 1.8m to its lowest point so looks like they’re too tall, a real shame as it would’ve been a good option for us with the new car coming soon (& if the company insurers allow it).
@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk3 жыл бұрын
@@ktpuss hi the X1 has a 1500 kgs to 1800 kgs limit depending on engine 750 will be for an un braked trailer - also your garage must have a low headroom at 5ft 9 as most are 6ft 6in which would fit the pod in - also i towed with company cars and never had any problems hope this helps
@ktpuss3 жыл бұрын
@@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk The headroom seems normal on the garage but due to the electric door there are parts at a max height of 5’11 - the car details don’t state braked weight just it’s maximum towing weight of up to 750kg for a 25e. Thanks though.

Yay hay! Just hit the subscribe button at the 999 and have now become your 1k subscriber! 👋 Really enjoyed the tour of the dinky Go-Pod. Wondering, - do you get much condensation with that type of shell/body? Apart from the obvious "open the window", is there any other sort of ventilation? And, what is the potential for leakage around the pop-top roof?
@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk3 жыл бұрын
Thank you my 1k subscriber 😋 I have not heard of leakage having known these vans from 2005 Again condensation hasn’t been an issue floor vents help and side opening windows kept ajar Thank you again for comments and your subscription 😍
