Crazy to think I use to hang out at his house and get high af with his brother obi when they lived at his moms. He would be so humble about everything. When he won the street league he just non chalantly pulls out the watch and ring and says just a little something while holding a giant 75k cardboard check. I am older now and I do not skate much anymore, but I understand the thrill of doing what Nyjah does even though my skill was only 1% of what his is. I feel bad for some of the people watching who never got to experience the thrill of conquering stairs or grinding a rail but having done that before I consider myself lucky. When I watch Nyjah and the other legends skate, I'm living vicariously through them and it brings me back. The sound of the trucks grinding or the sound of landing something clean is so satisfying to watch.
