Basically, there is a series of games under the title Danganronpa, and basically, 16 kids are lured into, what they think is, a high end school named Hopes Peak Academy. Because it was such a high end school, it was almost impossible for any normal person to get in. Recently i was diagnosed with PTSD and i..finally get what puppet meant by telling the little girl, that its Her fault. Of course she never did anything wrong, But seeing someone being murdered, right in front of your eyes, and not being able to tell anyone, or stop them, Easily chould make that person who saw it and did nothing, feel like its their fault, when they really chould have not done anything, Especially a child. Her guilt on seeing someone innocent be murdered, is terrible, and not being able to stop it. When someone dies, most people will think that they chould have stopped it somehow. Now imagine that thought, and then PTSD in the mix. She feels like these things are coming to haunt her, for seeing it, and not stopping it. She feels like this is all her fault, and thats what the puppet says to her. "It happened because of you" It happened, because you never stopped it.

On another, far more important note: I know it's been a while since you posted this, but from what I've heard, PTSD hits pretty hard, to make an understatement. This being the case, I want to wish you well. I've never had any personal experience with PTSD, but I know it CAN be overcome. Not always beaten (if ever), but it can be survived, managed, and lightened. Here's hoping you're already feeling a bit better since you commented! Coming back to this, this game was undeniably the best Five Nights at Candy’s game. The other two were simply FNAF clones, but this one changed up the mechanics, and actually had an extremely interesting story.

Yeah sometimes i see nightmares of movie characters but the funny thing is that i dont know who they are until hours after the dream (ex: ghostface, didnt know who it was until i got random recommendations about that movie) and its just terrifying

I'm not sure why, but the scariest thing to me are eyes. Every single time something/someone is staring at me, I get chills up and down my body. It's especially bad if their face is completely stoic. I think it has to do with the unpredictable factor, sort of the same reason why masks/clowns make people uneasy, you can't tell their real emotions under the disguise. This game fucks me up a tab bit because of that, just as FNAF 3 did. Anyway, when Mark was talking about the face of his nightmare dude being burned into his mind, that's all I could think of. The first time I had that happen to me was with Jeff the Killer. Yes, I know, he's not even that scary nor does his story scare me the least bit. HOWEVER, the first time I saw the photoshoped image of his face? Scared shitless. Everywhere I looked, I could feel eyes on me. Sometimes I can look into darkness and still see those eyes. Corners are about as bad as eyes for me as well. I'm just waiting for the day when I look up at the doorway in front of me and see someone/something staring at me with half their face covered by the corner of the wall. *Sigh* it's 5 AM and I'm just fueling my own paranoia, joyful times.

L Ren People see eyes in lots of things due to evolution. Before, when mankind actually hunted and gathered, they would be prepared to fight or run when they saw eyes in bushes - meaning there might be a predator. So it's natural that eyes are something you're fearful of.

My most vivid nightmare was when I saw this hideous looking man (It looked like the bald ghost monster from Scooby Doo but could stand straighter) chasing me. There was nothing around me, not even a floor just him chasing me and me sprinting as fast as possible. The scariest thing though, was when I woke up he was in my doorway. I was very young and scared out of my mind. He moved like a zombie. When he got to the bottom of my bed I jumped out of the covers and sprinted like my life depended on it out of my room and into my living room where my family was. My family looked very worried. I looked behind me only to realize it was just a hallucination from my mind going into terror overdrive.

So, fnaf 4 wasn't a "Nightmare" so, how do I explain this? Uh... so in the twisted ones, there is this device that makes a high pitched noise that "Scrambles" the brain. (I know the twisted ones isn't cannon, but, in the game universe the device IS cannon) and Ugh... I left something out. Notice how in FNAF SL The monitors in the private room change to fnaf 4? William Afton built these...Animatronics with devices inside of them. And, he uses the Fredbear nanny cam with the walkie talkies to see how the effects of the device worked. That's why the fnaf 4 rooms are called "Observation Rooms" William Afton Observes how the device works. He uses the Fredbear nanny cam with the walkie talkies to help his son stay away from them and to survive the night. So, the child sees these things as "Normal". They look spooky because the child is kind of scared of them. So, that's FNAF 4. BOOM. I JUST PROVED GALAXYCAKE RIGHT.

I get sleep paralysis very frequent. I sleep in an almost pitch black room, but that's the only way I can sleep. The normal case of sleep paralysis is seeing a dark figure in the corner of the room(even when the room is dark), and it cause you to get scared to the point of not being able to move..... doctors say my symptoms of sleep paralysis have become advanced, because the figure moves toward me and even whispers.... much like nightmares, sleep paralysis relies on your imagination, and the only way to make it stop is to realize it's nothing but that. Your imagination.

So just try to focus on moving something small, it seems to help. Hope it works for you if you try it.

To be honest, even tho Scott Cawthon started these types of horror games, FNAC 3 really makes its own impressive staple here. And I remember the scariest nightmare I had... I was 6 or 7 years old. So.. The dream was like this. I went with my mom to the animal shelter and for SOME reason there was also jewelry in the animal shelter. I saw a dog in the corner of the room... And next to him where owl's. Then suddenly it turned to night. I turned around to see my mom was no longer there. But when I turned around I saw the dog covered in blood. Where the owl's had been there was only blood and guts and feathers. The dog looked at me his head tilted to the side. Suddenly I "woke" up in my bedroom. Did you ever had this happen In a dream or nightmare where you think you woke up but really what happened was that you just dreamed it. It was dark, scary, creepy. I looked to the window. Outside was the dog. His black fur shone a little in the moonlight. And while I was looking at him, he broke through the window and now was in my room. I screamed and he tried to come closer and then I steeped on the dog. After that I actually woke up. Not in another dream, but in our reality. And SOMEHOW the water bottle next to my bed created a shadow on the window which looked like the silhouette of the dog. I screamed once again thinking I would die. But instead my mom rushed into the room seeing me on my bed crying. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep that night.

I think all of these games may be connected to the thought that this is all just night terrors from one girl. 2 things are consistent in the games: the main character’s name is Mary (her name in FNaC 2 is “Marlyn” which I think can be shortened to Mary) AND the rat has been present in all 3 games, that could be a connection. (Everyone who had a nightmare, reply to this and tell me, I'm curious.) Before, I fell asleep on a plane and had a nightmare. (At the time I was, like, 7) So in my nightmare, I'm on the plane, but then something under my seat grabs my ankles and pull me under. All of a sudden, I'm in the airport, but I'm wearing an orange suit, like I was in prison. I had chains on my wrists and ankles. There were other people there, too. These goblin things were controlling us. I asked one of the goblins if I could use the bathroom. He took the chains off my wrists and led me to the bathroom. I went in, but it was moldy, smelly, and absolutely disgusting. I didn't even want to use the bathroom anymore. I went to go wash my hands and instead of water coming out of the faucet, blood came out. Then I woke up. I pulled my legs under me so that the goblins wouldn't take me. KaylaBird Well, since you're curious. I was 11 at the time. And for some reason, Shrek always creeped me out. I had just finished watching the fourth movie and went to bed. Then I had this nightmare. Basically I had gotten a copy of Shrek 5. But Shrek looked like the one from the musical. Then it cuts to Shrek murdering his kids and Fiona. Then the screen said, "You're Next" then I ran into my room and went under the covers. Then I close my eyes, and then Shrek is staring at me through the sheets. Just staring, not doing anything. Then he grabs me and throws me. Then I wake up in a puddle of sweat and tears down my face. I then ran into my parents room like I was 6. XD

+Over-Rated Gamers Well unless your closet was filled with rocks, I think you don't understand basic physics. I can very easily go into my closet (which is tiny and packed to shit) and very easily go to the very back, because everything there is clothing, which is light and soft, as opposed to a heavy hard object (like the human body) pressing against it. If a force is applied to an object much lighter than yourself, then obviously it will move. So a monster could very easily push itself behind the clothes where you couldn't be seen.

The worst nightmare i had was when i was 10. I tried to open the back sliding door to my yard, it was locked. My little puppy was outside, she was crying and shaking. No matter how much I rattled the lock, it would not budge. I watched in terror while my dog fell to the ground, Swarms of ants devouring her flesh at a rapid speed. I saw every disgusting, Horrifying part of her flesh being ripped apart, and her blood spilling under the blue mat in front of the door. Once all was left of her bones, flesh dangling from it, I wake up screaming. I remember seeing EVERY part. I didnt even know what the indide of a dog looked like, yet my brain managed to exactly know how much flesh, were organs were and how much blood. I was only 10! Sorry to disturb you all haha. Just sharing an experience.

Advice for people who have bad nightmares: If you forcefully try to open your eyes recurrently in your dream, you will eventually open them in real life and wake up. If you keep doing this during a nightmare, you will eventually do it instinctively as a response to a nightmare, even when you're not aware you are in a dream.

Woolly Joe you have to actually be aware that you're dreaming though. I suffer from sleep paralysis, so after many years of going through it I can recognize it right away and calm myself down easily in order to jolt myself awake. Someone unfamiliar with it probably wouldn't be able to do that.

The same kind of thing works when having bathroom dreams... Like, pee dreams. I learned to wake up before using the toilet in my dream, or as I'm using it, so I can go to my actual toilet, and do my business, without accidentally wetting my bed..

About the face Mark.I Don't know if you will ever see this in the millions of comments but I have an explanation about seeing the face when you were awake. That's a phenomenon when you wake up too quickly, but a part of the mind is still asleep. put simply, your brain wasn't awake fully yet, so it took something in your room, and brought the dream into reality. This happens to a lot of people, sometimes me. once you fully wake up, it goes away, since the brain stops dreaming. I don't know the actual scientific name for it, but its something like 'waking dream' most sleep paralysis is caused by this state. it is one of the most terrifying things to happen to someone, and it happens to everyone at least once in their life. to face that at the age of eight is horrifying to think about. thank god it wasn't the full version of sleep paralysis, because then the face would have moved closer to you and you would be unable to move to get under the blanket.

I've experienced both sleep paralysis and waking dreams, although my waking dreams weren't really scary at all. In fact, I was kind of bummed when I fully woke because normally the waking dream made me see something like a lollipop on the bed railing, or made me believe I had won an Olympic medal. But the sleep paralysis... oh god the one time that happened to me was terrifying. I couldn't move, and for some reason I felt my body getting hotter, and twitching. I couldn't even open my eyes. After it, I calmed down relatively quickly, knowing that it was probably sleep paralysis. But in the long-term, it was hard for me to get to sleep for almost a week. Some nights, I didn't sleep at all.
