Go toward the light. [Deemo II]

Unlike the first game where it covers themes of guilt, sorrow, and moving on, Deemo II’s focus is on love and compassion despite forgetting them. I have to admit the story felt a little bit rushed but it was done pretty well. Here’s my interpretation of the story. May and Kai are an old couple who love each other. May sadly is diagnosed with Alzheimers and she can’t remember to play piano or her family. But it is through that love she is able to remember her husband and children. This is all done through the Deemo world. Echo and Deemo is simply put, the reflections of the old couple. Every human character represent the memories of when they first met, engaged, and have kids. By awakening the guardians to fight the loomers, the rain stops the downpour. These guardians are small drawings her children, May, and Kai drew together in the credits. The guardians are her cherished memories that remind her to not forget the love her family has for May. Thus, the composer appears again. The composer represents May’s best self-playing piano- but due to her Alzheimers, it’s hard for her to perform until Echo reminds her about the love she carries, even if she forgets. We first seen the outlanders as “bad” but they are her children guiding her to return Echo/May back to Horizon (May’s world). I might be missing some context but I love that the story ended on a positive note. It’s a story of remembering the love of your family.

they seems like cutting some story at chapter 4. because the adaptation looks "in hurry". the puzzle are just soo simple. and there is this question. there is a moment when deemo look "dizzy" (touching his head) and Idk why. Chapter 4 is really short, I thought we gonna unlock some new abandoned place or secret room.

@@helloworld.w6075 I like to lean onto the latter. She doesn’t forget her family completely but knows her children and Kai love her no matter what. It’s normal of patients with Alzheimers to deal with that.

@@abysshana7654 I agree. I didn’t know Chapter 4 was going to be the final chapter of Deemo II. The story introduced new elements in the world that wasn’t covered in the end. It was more open to interpretation. The part where Deemo felt dizzy, I think it’s more of Kai dealing with the burden of May’s Alzheimers. Then you have the Impression which is a vacant chibi world. May’s unconscious? The voidwalkers, according to my friend, represents May regaining her memories again. In the end, there were many loose ends Deemo II had thus why the game felt a little rushed. I’m still glad we got the ghibli-esque animations regardless.

The saddest thing is that this game has been forgotten by people. It makes me sadder because it seems like the theme of this game, like someone's fading memories. However, even if decades pass, I think it will be a story that will forever remain in my heart and the hearts of those who have played this game. It may be too late, but I hope that the story of this game becomes known to people in some way.

最後のシーンで光を取り戻して笑顔で見つめる表情が、空から降ってきたエコーをDeemoが抱き留めて地面に降り立った後、エコーがDeemoを笑顔で見つめる描写と一致してて泣いてしまった……

Im so sad that Deemo 2 isnt successful unlike its predecessor. The story is so beautiful and quality is so high. Rayark failed on advertising Deemo 2. I know this game because I follow Deemo religiously. I hope one day it will receive recognition like Deemo 1 and Cytus series

I honestly think deemo 2 was better than the first one, it's sad that it didn't have the half of the recognition as the deemo 1. I might try the Cytus games later

@@filipesilva5063 Deemo 2 is the better game that is for sure but only few thousand of people play the game. Honestly this might be because Ice isn't involved here. ICE is a great composer for things like this where Deemo usually focus on classical music

I loved Deemo 1 and 2 and I’m sad to see deemo 2 end, the ending was really emotional and I loved it😭 Thank you Rayark inc for making these absolute gems of a game, I would love to see a 3rd game in the same art style as the 2nd. They’re just such amazing games and I would be sad to see it end on the 2nd game. But still, thank you so much Rayark :)

鹿の守護霊目覚めさせた後から展開が怒涛すぎてポカーンとしてたけど 2:30がコンセプトムービーで見たところだ！ってなったり、最後の電車に乗るところでそういうことか！！ってなってストーリーをずっと噛み締めてる 全部纏めるとdeemo2は神 記憶消してもう一回やりたい

If you really ask I think is Alzheimer, after most of the character get on the train her disease finally heal and restores the memories ,those who being touch by rain will act like the memories lost ,and the monster in the rain I guess act as the Alzheimer disease ,I think the old women at the beginning(in her heart want to forget something in the past )so her disease get worse but after her husband encourages and take a good care of her ,she might be overcome it and keep going forward like the train and not being trap by the past so her disease finally can get better ❤

The world of Deemo is the head of May Zhang, a old lady who has Alzheimer. This sickness is symbolized by the Ancestor and the Loomers while her lost memories are the flowers. The clouds and rain are her depression and her lack of memory on her mind. Echo is her hope and will try to help her with Deemo by playing what May loves the most: the piano. Piano is the way she can still remember some memories. In this world, May is the Composer and that’s why she couldn’t fight the Ancestor alone. That’s the most beautiful scenario I’ve ever seen.
