Had to stop in and tell you. Was at my doctor's this morning for my 6 month checkup for my A1c. Soon as she walked in she said WOW, how did you do that? I asked well what is it. She said 5. I was at 7.3 I told her about your channel and the other old doctor I had seen back in Jan 3 about the dark chocolate with almonds. She said I still can't believe you got your numbers down that low in only 6 months. Also I lost 90 pounds. Walking, carbs and the old docs advice along with your channel saved me. Thank you and God for letting myself find your channel! She wants me to take the metformin for another 6 months but said I could stop the medication if I wanted. I'm going to get it refilled but not take it just so insurance pays for my strips. Again GOD bless you and your wife for making this channel 🙏

@a.d.9992 yes of course. The doc I saw that day, I got up to leave the appointment and he handed me a piece of chocolate. I said ty doc but I can't have that cause I just got diagnosed type 2 back in August 2023. He said listen here young man, I'm 54, you can have a couple of these everyday. I said well, how many you eat? He said this is how he kickstarted his insulin resistance. Have I piece after each meal. And one before bed. He gave myself the Dove dark chocolate with almonds. I eat 3 pieces a day now. 4 pieces if you read the bag is only 1 total serving. This worked for me but I'm not a doctor so you make up your mind if you wanna try it or not. I also walk after each meal. Hope this helps.

Went to my diabetes follow-up appointment 2 weeks ago. Back in October my A1C was 7.6. Now it's 6.9, but my doctor looks for stuff to have me appear to be worse than I am, and she rounded it to 7. However, if my A1C drops down 5 more points, I will be at pre-diabetic stage. Working hard getting it down! My blood sugar is FANTASTIC! Checked it this afternoon - it was 99. What am I eating? I had mashed rutabaga with my meals. Upped my fruit and vegetable intake like crazy. If I have a hamburger out, I get it low-carb ( no bun). Or I will have a wrap. Better choices and portion control are my keys in trying to crush my Type 2 diabetes. Next appointment (with labs one week before) is in mid-June.

I learned that you can eat all in the produce section as you want. You said apples and tomatoes should be in moderation. They do raise your sugar levels up. But it comes right back down to normal quickly. All the plant based foods eat as much of them as you want. Some raise your sugar levels up more than others. But as I said, it will come back down right away. And stay in the normal range 90 % of the time.

You can eat the following without worrying if your sugar spikes up in moderation. I have Type 1 Diabetes and My Parents have Type 2 and so far this is what I eat that has worked for me. Good to eat. Strawberries Blueberries Rasperries Blackberries KETO Bread (Lewis Hawaiian Bread) is a good choice. Peanut Butter All Zero Sugar things (In Moderation) like Soda, Jam, Ice Cream, cookies, etc. All Vegetables (Sweet Peppers and Broccolli for Vitamin C) Vitamin C, D, and B12 supplements Avocado, Extra Virgen Oil. Avoid Sweet Fruits Regular Carbs Breads Pasta Regular Soda Sugary Sweets. Vegetable Oil Canola Oil Frozen Foods Proceesed Can Foods. Unless if your doing excercise, working, and being active, then eating a banana or any sweet fruit, or a donut, or McDonalds, Pizza, Pasta, etc that you know is going to spike your sugars up once a month is not going to hurt you. It is best to eat them while being active. Start with M-Sat low Carb Diet and do a Cheat meal on Sunday. That's how I make sure my A1C is unde 7 and my Parents is under 6. Also Walking is the best way to bring glucose levels down. Hope this helps someone if you read this.

No quite 8 years ago when I began this journey after a heart bypass and diabetes diagnosis I read this diet instruction. but I cannot remember where I read it. Eat any animal product except the milk part of dairy. The fat part of milk is healthy. Eat any plant product that is not a seed, grain, fruit or root. There are some exceptions in the plants as Dennis pointed out in the video, ie, cucumber, and zucchini are fruits, but as written you can't go wrong. NO SEED OILS and my personal rule is if it is in a package with an ingredient list, it stays in the store.

The real key is finding foods you love to eat that won't raise your sugar. I don't have a lot of time to prepare fancy meals. So I usually throw some meat on the grill, or cook 2 or 3 eggs and cheese omlet. Then I have a huge salad, and I throw in lots of goodies like berries, mushrooms, almonds, bacon, bell peppers, cheese, avacado, then top it off with a home made vinegar and oil dressing. I make enough salad for 2 days. After dinner I have a little 5% Plain Greek yogurt. I'm type 2 controlling it through diet and exercise. No more Insulin or pills!

Or fill up with the big salad, the hamburger and a side of green beans, asparagus or other greens. I do that and my blood sugar does not go up high. That way you get lots of vitamins, minerals, and hardly any carbs.

The good thing about vegetables both starchy and non-starchy is they are mostly water so that the carb load is lower for them.
