I have reached Goa yesterday it is like crazy crowded everywhere especially in colva, calangute, miramar, almost every beach is crowded. I don’t understand why I get such videos of no tourists in Goa. I had booked my room in south Goa and planned of four people. But due to some change we had extra three people with us. We searched for extra rooms but fortunately got one apartment after three hours of searching.

I’m currently in Goa, and I completely agree that the main issue here is the high taxi fares. 1) There are taxi unions at all major hotels that prevent other taxis from picking up or dropping off passengers near their designated areas. 2) If you hire a self-driven car from North Goa and drive it to South Goa, these unions won’t allow you to carry luggage in the presence of their members. You can drive in the city, but luggage is not permitted. 3) The fares are excessive, so make sure to check the waiting and night charges before getting in. 4) Scams are common - they’ll initially tell you the taxi is booked for a full day (North or South Goa tour), but then charge you extra for kilometers you weren’t informed about. 5) Taxi drivers often have agreements with vendors, meaning they will only take you to places where they get a commission. 6) Most taxi unions don’t accept UPI payments, so it’s essential to carry cash. 7) Online booking services via apps are not allowed here.

Try goung to any upend restaurant.. there is cover charge, bouncers, one peg rate can buy entire bottle, reservations axt so pricey as if all tables are booked but when you enter inside the whole place is empty.. loot everywhere.. any dish is 700 + .. and serving size is so small that i have come back hungry.

This is everywhere in the world. Almost all taxiwalas do this. I would like to share one incident of Baku Azerbaijan in 2023. I booked a taxi at Airport to go to hotel in Baku City through a taxi app in 3.52 Manat. On the way the taxi driver asked me how much taxi fare the app shown. He told he will charge 75 Manat and threatened me to drop me on a lonely road. Later I came to know that, there is a big taxi scam at Airport. It is very true that due to such incidences with tourists, nobody will be interested to visit that place in future.

I really appreciate the efforts of Mr. Prime Minister and the Indian government. He works so hard to promote tourism globally, inviting people to visit India wherever he goes. But it’s sad that the local mindset and business practices don’t always reflect his vision. Despite everything, I still love Goa and plan to visit again soon. It’s a place with so much charm-hopefully, things will improve with time!
