The title is a quote from Carl Sagan, the famous astronomer who is known for his research on extraterrestrial life.
This Neo Goa Trance mix is a tribute to the past, to have a better understanding of the present styles.
Psychedelic Trance started in the late 80s / early 90s in Goa, India, hence the name ‘Goa Trance’, that was originally given to this musical style.
It has evolved so much since then and we are now blessed with so many different styles such as Full On, Twilight, Hi-Tech, Progressive, Dark Psy, Psychill, and so much more. Technology advancement has also made the music productions tighter and crisper.
In the early 2000s, the ‘New School’ Goa (also known as Neo Goa) sound emerged which is greatly inspired by the beautiful, seemingly endless melodies that are distinct to Goa Trance, with a modern approach to it.
In the (Neo) Goa Trance style alone, there are many different types of atmospheres and structures. Some may sound joyful, some sounds darker, some also has that progressive build to it, and some even embraced some Full-On elements such as the rolling bassline. There's also Goa Chillout tracks out there.

Hi. Thanks for putting BPM. There are certain tempos that are in tune with the harmonics of the human body. 120 BPM, 136BPM and 144BPM: These 3 tempos are in tune with a moderately exercising heart beat which means that people are more able to dance for a long period without them collapsing on the dance floor. Each of these tempos are also in tune with a different rainbow colour and each colour represents different chakras. It is a very exact science. You need a 303 because high frequencies stimulate the mind and not low drum sounds as one would imagine...... different sorts of trance I guess.... Do you write your own music? And do you play out?...

Thanks for sharing! That's interesting to know. I personally like those ranges because I feel I can move better when I'm dancing but that's just me. I don't write my own music unfortunately. Maybe not yet, who knows. I do play out but it has been quite a while since lockdown and all. My next confirmed gig is in Thailand for Christmas. Super excited for that one!

I am thinking about organising a party in London at the beginning of August 2024 and if it goes ahead then I wondered if you would like to play? so I need to know which country you come from so that I can get price on flights and hotel....? It will be a trance party, I'm sorry but I still love Goa and progressive psytrance. I would love for Infected Mushroom to headline...... still early days!
