@E Martins Dear Sir, I had also experienced rude behaviour way back in 2015 when I visited Goa on my own bike as part of an adventurous group of bikers. For no reason, while on a red light, I was waiting for the light turning red, a young Goan boy began abusing me. A hot exchange of words ensued and to my sheer disappointment, the traffic constable also joined the erring Goan. I wish wisdom prevails. God bless them all.

You have touched up on a very important topic. I have been to Goa many times since 2008. My experience is same - tourists are primarily responsible for garbage. Back in 2010 Arambol used to be one of the cleanest beach. That time fewer Indians used to visit this beach. Now you will find bottles and plastics everywhere. Hope authority will take strong step.

We goans were never having issues with maharashtra, kerala,tamilnadu, but especially when states like up, bihar, gujrat, delhi they created a mess in goa... karnataka is always in conflict with goa with water ,land, forests issue etc... and outsiders created a mess by destroying our nature, destroying our heritage etc .... they are trying to rule us... so our opinion is when outsiders are coming, come enjoy but don't try to implement your control and destroy our nature and one last thing outsiders are distributing us as hindu and Christians , we goans are united as hindu and Christians but outsiders are always trying to divide us..... proud to be pogo ( person of goan origin)

Who will stop property deals in Goa. All trees are chopped down, now we native Goans are facing big problems like.temperature is raining up to 42*c , where Goa was known for a moderate climate.Scarcity of water, power cut, rubbish in River, Slums, crime and discrimination towards local Goans. We are belongs to minority communities now. And that day is not too far when we native Goans will get kicked out if we don’t stop all this. There is one village in Ponda Goa called Gaunem. Speciality of this village is, any outsiders can’t buy land in this area. Only native people can. Each and every village of Goa should do this. There should be a protest against any kind of construction in all villages, regardless Apartments or industries. There should be less employment opportunities in Goa so it won’t attract outsiders. Hardly any native Goan get job in industries but outsiders are rushing in.

I actually liked this trait of Goan people during my first visit with family to Goa in early eighties. People of the state should have 1st right over it- but sadly this is not applicable to Delhi where people from UP, Bihar have taken over not just manual jobs but also white collar jobs & political positions. They have spoiled the environment of Delhi & create problems for Original Delhiites (living here for more than 4-5 generations). I wish every Indian Tourist specially North Indian people have a mindset like you. I am a goan, we love to mingle with people we love to sing & dance enjoy non-veg food & drinks but everything is done in a most respectable manner. By drinking alcohol we do not loose our cool & become like wild animals. Our goans wedding is an example & proof of decency, respect & broadmind amongst young & old goans. Our men dance sing along with our pretty girls including senior citizens. This is our GOAN CULTURE. To sing, dance, drink & eat non-veg is not an offense but part of our culture. I am a goan and yeah . I really have no hates for tourists/ outsiders. Literally most of the tourists I see they either dirty the place or be very rude. But yeah we goans do avoid talking to tourists. But if they are kind and don't do the dirty things.i will always help and let them know direction and stuff. See mostly tourists have accidents very common. Even between two different tourists groups they fight and stuff. But I live in bardez . And near pani puri shops thingy they be so rude to stop over there and wash their hand front of their stalls. And I witness the shop keepers. They saw But didn't say anything. But then he drop the food plate . ( their own food not of the shopkeeper) And made a mess . Atleast say sorry but he didn't bother . . The shopkeeper said why ur doing this here. And then he was like I am giving the dogs .(directly on the road.) Not even on the footpath they keep clean . And the shopkeeper of course got angry at it and he said if the police saw this . U would get ur lesson. In hindi they talked . So .... of course what can we goans do about it..

I had heard lot of things about goans being rude but in my five trips to goa i didn't had any issues with any goan(I am in touch with many localites). Surprisingly got into serious scuffle 3 times and it was with the north indians (I am myself from Noida) .Apart from that ; I went to goa 3 yrs back and had a blast in south goa but the north goa was seriously disgusting and crawling with crowd.It is indeed loosing its charm and can't really do anything about it. One thing that you have to understand about goan culture is that they handle alcohol pretty well and its kinda part of their culture *unlike us where most of us who associate alcohol with hooliganism and think we get a lisence to do anything*

Stop blaming everything on North Indian . Every region has a bad elements and a good. How can you tell by seeing him that he is from north India. I am from up and there are very developed city in up like Noida ; Kanpur ; Lucknow ; Prayagraj etc .where living standard is very high and education also so we don't need to have meantality like goans. Now talking about the aggressive mentality of the north indian people let me tell you that my brother lives in bangalore from last 7 years and he had told me that how discrimination is done by South Indian people against north indian people. For example there was a case in Chennai Zomato , there a woman reviewed that keep your employees Tamil speaking person only. Forget about others personal experience when my grandmother was coming back from Bangalore a woman agressively held her and started saying bad words. This never happens in North . In North if there is any company who wanted to hire employees than they will hire on the bases of qualifications not on the bases of language.

Problem is in history, today's goans Christian population (only Christian) are not pure Indian (neither pure Kannad nor maratha) they are cross breed of Indian and Portuguese.
