Goal of the Month contenders (January 1984)

Turning the clock back 30 years this month to the BBC's Goal of the Month contenders for January 1984, featuring a mixture of league and cup goals scored during the month (the number of matches to choose from was less than today, basically only those selected for highlights or live coverage by the BBC so probably less than 15 per month). Not 100% sure who it for this month but guessing it was Ian Rush for Liverpool v Aston Villa as that was a contender for goal of the season. Other contenders for this month were Craig Johnston (Liverpool), Bryan Robson (Manchester United), Peter Mendham (Norwich), Dennis Mortimer (Aston Villa), Michael Robinson (Liverpool) and Gary Hackett (Shrewsbury).
