In this last video for 2019 I'm talking about my plans (and reasons behind them) for 2020 and the tools I will be using to make those projects happen.

i've been watching your videos for a couple years now, i'm always inspired after every video and when i need some motivation, i come back to your full-length paintings and supply videos. it was really great to see you mention everything in here and really inspired to see how you've grown over these past few years. here's to a great year and i hope your goals will come to fruition!!

I love watercolour pencils! Tip, you don’t have to touch the pencil to paper. Just grab a watercolor brush that is wet and pick up the pigment straight from the pencil onto the brush. They same technique works for watercolour 🖍 crayons.

Your weird knife looks a lot like the cutlery that was used on board German Lufthansa airliners 40 years ago. It's a German design classic that was created by product designer Wolf Karnagel - he did all kinds of product design for Lufthansa in the 80s. We've had an old set like this for ages, the forks are great for mashing up cat food. 😉 Hope you were able to work on your goals in this weird year!

Tight. My big buying goal for early in the new year is a better CHAIR. Ive been doing less art recently because the chair ive been using makes my back ache after 45 mins.. no good. I would LOVE your pencil shaving tool.... do u have any links to buy it?

Yes, but I have Schmincke still, I used it this year A LOT actually for all the “Tokyo at Night” paintings so I want to rest from it a bit ;)

You can buy some in MUJI and I bought this one in a home decoration store called Keyuca. You can look in sores that sell things or your bathroom (like toiletries stands) :)

@@mattjabbar ooh good idea, thanks! I currently have a ceramic pie dish but its circular so it takes up a weird shape on my desk, and the sides are a bit high.

Do you use cadmium pigments or hues/substitutes? I'm a bit nervous of using heavy metals in paint.

I use cadmium colors, I would prefer not to though.

@@hafizhasrul8781 What Yasmine said is true, but Schmincke is also great. Especially for thick painting when you need solid, almost opaque colors especially. They were great for my “Tokyo at Night” book! Expensive though :/

Ghibli Museum, LAMY (the fountain pens) and a sticker by the Traveller's Factory that you can get in Tokyo Station. :)

Yup I got the tubes and put them into pans. It works OK as long as you don't store them upside-down for long.

Yes, but they get somewhat complicated to set up when one lives in Japan and wants US links :/ I might do them some day.
