I ASSURE you that I am not spoiling anything by giving you this basic background information: Harry is 32, originally from Portland, OR. He attended USC after high school to study jazz drumming and has been in LA ever since (for the last 14 or so years). He's a professionally trained jazz drummer. In the video Amen, Brother, Harry performs the drum breaks from three CLASSIC and MASSIVELY sampled songs. All three songs and breaks have been sampled hundreds of times. That is critical information in order to understand what he's doing, as EVERY reference he drops to artists or songs are because those artists/songs sampled the specific drum break he is doing at the time of the reference. The references he makes to artists and songs are NOT random in this video. So far, of all the reactors who have reacted to Amen, Brother, only ONE has caught on to what Harry was doing. LITERALLY ONE...and only a couple others have caught one or two references and associated them with the drum break...but yet they still didn't realize that he was doing that for ALL references. Without that basic background information, you aren't really reacting to what Harry's video is all about. Hell yeah! You know you just saw something awesome, glad to see you appreciate that. I'm not a big hip hop head myself, though I've dabbled in my listening. My era was pretty much covered at the last halftime show along with some dirty south stuff. Lol. But I have to say, Harry Mack blew me away the first time I witnessed him as well. I've watched a lot of his videos, but this one was a first time for me as well. I must have missed it. Everyone gave him great words on this one. I like how he is as a person too. He seems very genuine, courteous, and friendly. He's super positive to everyone he interacts with. He seems a decent person, which makes it even easier to be a fan. But what else can you say about his talent other than he's flawless. Hands down, one of the greatest freestylers of all time. I'd recommend checking out his AMEN BROTHER drum beat video. That was my first time seeing him and it's one of his best videos. I play the drums myself and I can say he's pretty damn good. I love seeing original talent and he has it in spades.
