We laugh about it now because they used it so often. But the "I'll put you in a tag team match main event" was brilliant. It promised stars would be in action, while keeping the big singles matches for PPV. New Japan uses that booking all the time. Also there was something really fun about watching someone responsible deal with the madhouse of crazy gimmicks and intense wrestlers instead of a scheming boss trying to constantly screw over his own money making babyfaces.

Remember a match on Smackdown where Batista had to team with Colin Delaney, Nunzio and Funaki. If his team lost, he'd never get another title shot while on the show. Colin, Nunzio and Funaki took a metric ton of punishment and really showed how tough they were by making sure Batista won the match. EDIT: He teamed with Nunzio, Funaki and Colin Delaney against La Familia. That was the match.
