As a person with Autism and ADHD who's working their way through academia (almost entirely online), I can't tell you how excited I am to try out some of those goblin tools! Some of the things that I've found helpful (especially for concentration) are: 1. listening to certain types of ambient music (the one I use the most is by a KZbinr called 'State Azure'), 2. I have a timer set to go off at random intervals between 12-23 minutes, whereupon I swap my desk between sitting and standing, and 3. I have my two monitors oriented differently (one horizontal, one vertical) which helps me keep input and output separated. I do this by putting papers/videos/lectures etc on the vertical monitor (input) and I do my writing/note-taking on the horizontal monitor. I find that this physical separation between the two modes makes things feel less "muddy".

Oh wow, halfbold really did it for me. I probably would have skipped it if you hadn't said to pause and read that paragraph. It was almost effortless. This was of course a biased test, but it still worked incredibly well. I wonder if there's an easy way to convert whole ebooks like this. If not, I think it might be worth it for me to just write a script myself. Thanks for the tip, I never would have found this on my own.

I'm sorry you are having anxiety lately. I plan to send $ because your Zotero videos were truly FANTASTIC. Thanks for this post. The formalized concept might be helpful in a communication class too. Overall, these tools look interesting, and maybe need more integration so there's less cutting and pasting.

Excellent review of these tools, and actually relatable as a person with ADHD / neurodivergent. I tend to drown in a sea of RSD and demand avoidance, and while I’d heard of these tools before I only had a quick look at them, but they way you explained them shows that they might actually be useful. In every household stuff, and the dreaded return to college in September 🙄 This might be a bit off topic, but I really appreciate when people are out and proud about being neurodivergent, as I am myself. I’m trying to teach my own kids the value and benefit of being authentic, so when I find an adult who is doing so, I like to applaud it. So fair play, as we say here 😉

Hey Bryan, watching your video has actually changed my life! I'm in the middle of my Masters, and it's been a struggle. I am so excited to start using these tools! Also, as a British person listening to an American person I love hearing you say, "Bloody nightmare" made me smile. I hope you're doing okay!

Forgot the name of it already but the text font for the first goblin took, is really good for dyslexics. I am ADHD and Dyslexic. The auditory and reading really helps me a lot. Thank you. Just found your channel. Great content. I subscribed. I also saw you use obsidian which is an app I adore and love for all my college stuff. Just remembered it was called half bold.

My OT mentioned Goblin Tools to me, and I was still overwhelmed with how to use it. I found your video when searching for 'quick start' type things and I love it! I opened all the links when you showed them at the beginning, but then immediately closed wheel of names because I was like what good is that? I am teacher, I know about it in that use, but what else would I do with it? I LOVE your suggestion of copying everything over from Goblin Tools and using it as a what to do next generator instead. I have all the tools you mentioned saved in my favorites and I'm excited to dig into them a little more! Thanks for breaking them all down!

As an AuDHDer I totally missed out getting the same built-in Formalizer that a lot of neurotypical folks got at birth. It's great to have tools like this to help add these abilities in as when they are missing, it hamstrings us a lot in life... Thanks

Great video 🐄 I'm an AuDHD person and your content has forever been giving me tools and approaches that are so helpful. Thanks for such a detailed rundown of WHAT specific aspects of goblin tools are useful for. You mentioned somewhere in a video your tracking method for relationships and keeping in touch... this is something I'm struggling with but I cannot for the life of me remember what video. Are you still using that? and if you could just remind me what video it is.... driving me nuts because I'm looking but can't remember where. (too many friends just disappear into the ether and then I'm so frustrated by them being distant when we do reconnect)

I love watching many of your videos. I have been watching yiur adhd videos for like 2 years especially the ones that intersect w tech tools you find helpful. I was very intrigued to hear that you have autism as well. I view the world and many things about it similar to you I am starting to think maybe I have more then just adhd and some friends have mentiond autistic traits. I would love more videos about what you see in your life that is illustrative of the dsm criteria. You posted one of these recently somewhere I watched. This video is great too.

awesome!! I can't wait. Other content I would request (although I realize you have your own priorities and interests for the videos you create) are: 1) more general (just list them and describe 3 minutes how it helps you), videos of tech tools or non tech tools (ie physical timers, smartwatch, bluetooth trackers etc, certain types of paper file folders or office tools, how many monitors you use and what content you usuallys tick on each one (i find myself never using the same monitor for the same program or app etc) , how you motivate yourself to do things you dont want to do, how you keep your house clean and organized w an adhd / autistic brain 2) detailed tutorials about the ten most helpful apps you are using that would be helpful for you and also for someone who is not a computer programmer every year (these may change every year) for example i am about to watch your "using to do ist tutorial" tonight and sign up for to do ist. I dont have much faith in people who don't sound like me. And from all your videos you sound like so much like me and I feel like 95% of the rest of the population out there dont get it at all . When they give me advice its so hard to "buy in" @@BryanJenks
