This was my fathers favorite hymn. We played it for him at his funeral. As Christians, it is a beautiful promise, of life everlasting, as Jesus as our savior. One day, we will close our eyes to this world and open them in glory. Until we meet again Dad.

My son died suddenly in his flat in Durban between the 7th and 10th of April 2021 and was buried on the 23rd April 2021 We used to sing the chorus "in the cross you will rest beyond the river.

There's an episode of "Touched By An Angel" where the father of a dysfunctional family is on his deathbed. The family gathers to sing this hymn. When they finish singing, and the man was escorted to heaven, I got a text from my sister that my mom had passed. We sang this at her funeral.

A week after my father died I found the old reel to reel of him singing hymns as he played his organ. When this hymn came up I balled and cried so very much. It was like he was singing it especially to me. Twenty two years later now as I listened to this, it has filled my heart again with tears for that blessed promise that God will wipe all tears from our eyes.

I dedicate this song to my nephew's wife of nine weeks. The wedding was unreal - so much happiness for the day - even though we knew time was limited. She was buried in her beautiful wedding gown and surrounded by fresh pink rose petals. Till we meet again. xx
