After the Gulf War, I flew many missions bringing home our heroes. Cannot tell you how emotional these missions were upon our arrival back home. Often, our flight crew were forced to walk through the welcoming crowd to this song. I had never been hugged and kissed like this by complete strangers. The American spirit will never bend a knee.

My husband is a 30 yr Army Vet. This song was played at just about every social event and everyone in the room would sing along at the top of their lungs. I am neither Catholic nor Protestant ... nor do I follow the religious teachings and traditions of men. I follow my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His teachings only. No one is "born again" via "infant baptism," and neither one of the verses you offered supports such a belief. Jesus prayed for the little children - He didn't baptize them (or babies), and 1 Cor. 1:16 says nothing about INFANTS being in the household of Stephanas. It is dangerous to ADD to Scripture that which is not stated in the text. There is no biblical record of INFANTS ever being baptized, and for good reason ... one has to be of age to HEAR, UNDERSTAND, and ACCEPT the Gospel message of salvation through Jesus Christ in order to BELIEVE in Him, and babies simply cannot do that. And if you know the Bible, then you should also realize that this BELIEF in Christ is essential in order to be born again and to enter into the kingdom of God and receive eternal life: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever *believes in Him* should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) This entire process of coming to faith in Christ PRIOR to baptism is seen in Acts 8:35-38, where the Ethiopian eunuch heard Philip "preach Jesus," understood and accepted what Philip was saying, and then BELIEVED in Jesus ... and ONLY THEN could he be baptized in water. And clearly, the man was saved, "born again," by BELIEVING in CHRIST, for water baptism in and of itself can't save anyone. Water baptism is simply a demonstration of the individual's BELIEF IN JESUS: "Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, _preached Jesus_ to him. Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” Then Philip said, _“If you believe_ with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I _believe_ that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him." Another Biblical example is found in Acts 16:30-33... “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, *“Believe* on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Then they _spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house._ And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized." Over and over again, the Bible teaches that being saved, born again, requires the preaching of the Gospel FIRST, followed by acceptance by the listeners and their BELIEF ... and only THEN are they baptized. That is following GOD'S WAYS rather than man's ways. It is NOT baptism that saves them, neither is it membership in a religious organization ... it is BELIEF/FAITH in CHRIST JESUS ALONE. This is already a lengthy reply, so I won't make it any longer, but I hope that you will not consider my sharing of the Biblical truth on the subject of being saved/born again to be "persecution."
