Heh , the devs nerfed the heck out of the bullet editor , custom bullets will now require actual ammo instead of OP and on top of that the stronger your bullet is the less ammo you'll be able to bring on the mission .They even went as far as to remove the blast gun .

I can't wait for this.. I've been playing since god eater on the PSP. I've loved every title since including the remake. The stories, while admittedly weird at times are, to me, well written, sometimes deeper then you'd expect and heartwarming. I also prefer the combat style over monster hunter, including world which I put over 160 hours into the first 2 weeks it came out and hit Rank 100. Yes, I'm obsessed with these types of games.

As a long time God eater fan you can't think of this as MHW clone you have to think of it as a older MH clone with faster combat. And it's a lot safer to compare this to a JRPG rather than a MH genre of those don't interest you it's prob not for you.

GE's pretty deep, all things considered. The weapons aren't as distinct as they are in MH, but you still have quite a lot of variety, and the fact that you can mix and match swords, shields and guns of different types allows for neat combinations. They have diverged quite a bit over the years, really. They're still both based off the same idea (deploying to the field to hunt giant monsters, gather materials and get better equipment to fight stronger monsters), but they have different approaches. I'd say GE is like MH in a way, but with way more emphasis on the actual fight. MH has a lot of buildup, tracking and resource management (for lack of a better term). There's a lot more weight to how you gather materials, how you keep your weapon useable, how the environment makes for a different fight. GE just focuses on the fight itself, on the action of facing against the monster, and it's a lot faster overall as a result.

I really hope that this has an open world functions it's ok if they don't. Ive loved god eater since the psp days and I always look forward to the next title to see what's changed and what got upgraded and to also kill giant badass looking monsters. And from what I've seen so far, the aragami designs look so amazing and I'm looking forward to the new weapons and mechanics. But what is very unique about god eaters is that it's a game that can keep going no matter what. The aragami have absolutely no source. There's no prime aragami that's pumping these things out. They're essentially a colony of trillions of individual cells working as a unit to form a single body. Kind of like a jellyfish. At the center is a cluster of cells that holds the whole thing together called the core. Remove it and the aragami falls apart. And when the cells disperse they reform into different bodies consuming materials around them and improving themselves through learning much like we do. They don't evolve they learn. Paylor sakaki goes into great detail about this in the first game.

In god eater 2:blood rage i hated the longsword in the beginning cause I thought it was the most clunkiest but because of my love for greatswords I forced myself to learn it,and once I just started to get the combos down,omg I couldn't get enough of it that coupled with the regen and link chain I would never die. It's more like if you played the older games you would have more context of the world and the big over all story but involving the individual characters your not left out too much i bet there be little tidbit for old fans when they mention old npcs but in the trailer i could swear i saw a clip of a very important character from ge 1 but it just might be a nuthin burger if it's just someone recaping the story from ge 1. And big yes all main missions and fillers are coop in ge2 they did have single player side quests but you can come back to them anytime when your op and can slap away a monster with 300,000 like a fly :D

I suppose I'm an odd one, but I enjoyed GE:R and GE2:RB more than MH:W. And I played them after World. For some reason it just clicked better- the Aesthethics was nice, and the fact that the monsters didn't run 10 miles away to make a giant lull in the fun part of the game- I didn't enjoy having to go up cliffs after Legiana and Kirin every time I fight them, or having to do a fast travel mid mission just to get to the Rathalos/Rathian nest in the Forest. It was fun, but I just didn't enjoy it. Also, God Eater's fashion is far better. It doesn't mean I have to look like a clown for better stats. MH:W has layered armor, but that stuff is a PITA to get.

"and the other god eater sucked" GE burst on psp was fun tho,the story is good,that's all (idk about GERES since haven't played it) the difficilty was hard....i think most 90% of my mission is a B,enemies much more agressive and faster (maybe,or it could be just when i play GEB on psp it runs really smooth but in GE:R and GE2RB on pc much slower because i have potato pc) but that's all GE2RB just a meh,story is decent i guess but the problem with it is in the difficulty the game is way too easy until the mission with livie NPC only other than that it was so easy the characters is good tho thank you whoever comes up with "character episodes" feature the problem in the story is just the pacing,it takes WAY too long to something interesting happening and so far GE3 could be the best one yet tbh just....please don't put like 100 zoom in like in GE2RB

As a player with all sss on missions, I can tell you you fall in 90% of ppl who played God eater and it's not your fault they don't explain the finer points of the customization of skills. Every player I talk to on mic I walk them through the steps on how to add skills without overwriting the ones they have they enjoy the game a lot better and catch the "1 more battle I might get a epic skill" bug

Can't wait. God Eater games are very niche, but I've been hooked since I got Gods Eater Burst for the PsP back in the day. Glad they could drop the s and be God Eater again, thanks UK. Can't wait to try out the new weapons, the arts, and the general increase in mobility, which I thought was already quite high in Resurrection. Also the new visuals and the likely even more clothing options. Too bad they went for the shitty mobile MMO-lite game first, but whatever. These past week I've been replaying Gods Eater Burst on my PsP. I can't believe I used to think "claw"ing for camera control was fine, but the game still feels good to play despite that. It's nice to go back and be able to see how the series evolved over time. Luckily the wait for a western release of the next instalment won't be measured in years.

I played the first 2 god eater games alot on psp along with monster hunter freedom unite and portable 3rd. Seems cool but it looks like they just upped the graphics and added some new stuff. It will be hard to play this from mhw since mhw maps are so interactive but god eater's looks the same as the old ones with a visual upgrade. Definitely on my radar though since there's not many monster hunting games out there.

Oh man Feb 19. Aw... Welp, gives me time to save up. You don't get to shoot offen in the older titles. You need to melee to gain oracle cells (ammo). The new remaster gave the GE1 the devour styles. Too bad, this wasn't applied to GE2. I even created my devour style of combat. The bullet crafting was my jam creating insane damaging bullets is fun. I love the two older games; the story, the characters and the monsters. This game introduces me to the world of monster hunting(I loved it). It made me take up MHW because of this. The first weapon I picked up was gunlance and it wasn't far from this. This series also gave me an advantage and MHW thought me new stuff that I can now bring to GE. I can't wait to buy this game to see the world I came to love and see how it is now. Soon... The hunt shall begin again.

Okay, to anyone wondering if they should give GE a try, here's my short review. (MH veteran, I played Resurrection and Rage Burst recently as they're free on PS Plus right now along with Gravity Rush 2) ----- CONS: -Graphics, these are portable and last gen games, of course the graphics won't be up to par with MHW nor GTA 5. Don't expect cool particle effects whenever the monster stomps the ground which sucks because PSP MH has that, it adds weight to battle when you see the monsters actually doing damage to it's surrounding. Character expressions and movement are awkward and hard to take seriously during dramatic plot scenes. -MONSTERS, There's less variety than older MH games, also it's pretty hard to read the monster's move set as they barely show body language before an attack (worse than old MH). Hit box is pretty bad also, and expect the monsters to break the rules of physics to land a body blow on you. -SOUND, old Playstation tier clunks and thuds, when a character shouts you can actually visualize the voice actor screaming at a cheap mic. -MUSIC, the game is trying to be an anime so most soundtracks are Jrock, rock and fast jazz instrumentals, bad thing is they're pretty generic and badly placed. Don't expect it's soundtracks to rival that of FF games let alone Nier Automata. Nor expect them to be as well placed as that of Life is Strange. ------ PROS: -PLOT, animu-like plot, if you wanna roleplay a teenager wielding a gigantic weapon against cataclysm level threats you got it. Along with the many eye candies you expect such an anime to have, cute anime girls in skimpy outfits, anime cliches, use of cool terminologies (god arcs), sad overly dramatic plots. A weaboo's wet dream. -GAMEPLAY, fast paced unlike gritty MH games where you time your movements, here all you have to do is learn the monster's move set, block, dodge, then spam your attacks. It's actually fun in its own way. You can just chill out while button mashing attack, block, and devour as every weapon feels light as a feather. It's not MH and that's actually a good thing for it. -CRAFTING, like MH crafting but feels more free, drop rates are also forgiving I don't know how it works yet but judging from the drop rate table I haven't seen an item below 5%. -AI Party, Yes you have animu friends helping you beat monsters, they have their own specialty roles and voice sounds (voice actors are pretty good), best for those who have no friends or those whose weaboo friends are a bit too awkward to play with (yes those guys who play as teenage anime girls in skimpy clothes). -------- I expect GE3 to improve the cons as they're updating consoles so it's probably going to be good.

With Monster Hunter in general it's just: -Kill the T-Rex because why not? cool weapon and armor so shut the fuck and do it! JUST DOOOO IT! With God Eater at least (even if this is not the most original idea for a story) it's kill the Aragami to survive and try to save humanity, they have at least a reason to do so and they have in some of the game some good and interresting character and some who grow as well when in Monster Hunter games you don't have that at all.

How the monsters came to be, the Great Dragon War, an ancient civilisation that was far more advanced than any civilisation known to date that has the abillity to build complex weaponry simultaneously using wyverns as tools to battle the elder dragons. MHW is the first entry of the series to feature a full fledged story like cutscenes althought its not as deep as the god eater games but still has a story nonetheless. @@lapsedilationdrive3943 1: I didn't say anywhere that i know my shit on the MH games. 2: i did play only two MH games (and did see my friends playing one on the Wii), it was Monster Hunter Freedom Unit on PSP and Monster Hunter World on ps4, so yeah i don't really know a lot about the "story" of the Monster Hunter games, just the basic of it. 3: You seem really triggered from just my opinion on the matter, calm down ma boi it's just me not having fun with this series of games and nothing else. Just to tell more about what i think of these games. The gameplay is fucking slow like god damn i almost want to seelp after slaying one of these fucker because it take so damn long to take one down (even at high level it because more and more difficult or you have to get one hell of a good party if you want to do that "quick"), the characters are almost bland (or just doesn't really exist beside you and the NPC quest) and the story is...average at best even if for me it doesn't really exist when you just have like quest to kill some monster for just...weapon and armor and that's all. I understand if people like these games because i just look the design of the monsters (especially in Monster Hunter World) and for the weapon/armor too, and the graphic are really amazing this time but for me it's all about the gameplay in these type of games, and when my character moves so fucking slowly and attack at the same speed with monsters in front that moves like sonic, i can't.

@@TheTomokiSakurai your character moves slow is because it was meant to have a slight realism in the combat. You can see how they wield their gigantic weapons and the way they swing them that shows how heavy the weapons are unlike god eater or any other hunting games where wielding the weapons is like holding a damn pencil. In contrast i dont enjoy playing god eater that much, its much more repetitive than monster hunter in general. You only fight the aragamis in 1 generic map with no interactions at all. Unlike monster hunter world with its flourishing ecosystem where every single monster have completely different behaviours to point where using distictive weapons will alter the monsters' reaction with the hunter. Sure in GE you can morph melee to range weapons in 1 go but that is still not enough to nullify the repetitiveness nature of the game. Also the tempered monsters are not that hard tbh. I soloed MHW from start to finish and managed to defeat tempered monsters under 12 minutes. So saying that it takes long time to kill the monsters really reflects your playstyle

@@lapsedilationdrive3943 well to be fair MHW is really slower than GE.. In GE you can finish any mission under 5 mins with any weapon but on MHW only specific weapons can do that. If you can finish all monsters under 5 mins using the lance well that may actually prove that it depends on your playstyle but so far no one has done it yet.

Its not that i don't see why people make certain comparison its just that both are different and unique games in there own rights calling God Eater the Anime Monster Hunter is like still calling the game Monster Hunter itself instead of having it getting the feel of branching off and being it's own game they are many open world type games like Monster Hunter but when you look at it God Eater is the most compared to as ot gets the setting, style, system are different from each other so to compare the 2 based off of its environment and atmosphere its like saying we're still playing MH which doesn't make the game sound all that exciting I just want people to enjoy it for what it is without making the comparisons

@@goldenboy3850 Monster Hunter is not an open world game though - and the important part of comparing a game with another game is trying to signal to one group of people who like a game.. that many of the things they like there are found in this other game. Like it being a serious of over the top boss battles, playstyles attached to a large amount of weapon varieties - grind based on crafting and creating collections of weapons/armor - skill and build diversity meant to better kill the same roster of monsters better. "You want people to enjoy it for what is is without making comparisons" - so do you dislike genre tags? People will enjoy it for what it is when they play it - but they need to get to that point

the difficulty is raised in this entry because ive noticed the new Aragami being VERY aggressive in their attacks compared to previous ones in older games, plus the Ashborn Aragami can devour the player as well and if devoured, you take double the damage, cannot link with others and die instantly if incapacitated....cant say anything about the older Aragami besides the news that some of them will be coming back. (they showed a glimpse of the Ogretail in the TGS2018 stageshow and their eyes glow now but other than that, no gameplay)

yeah, this one looks a lot better than the old god eater titles. gives me some code vein vibes. its a bit sad that japanese devs are actually still developing ps3 standard graphics and hide it with hyper stylization (persona 5, code vein, this one etc). it makes the games feel low budget.

Had to admit that the Other God Eaters do sucks especially in GE2RB in English version due to low texture quality and technical difficulties such as master volume, musics too loud during cutscenes, terrible voice acting etc except only gameplay is fairly decent,

Welp if they fucking did add the dual voice option it could have been something interresting (for these type of game or just in general i prefer the Japanese voice acting who are so much better compared to the English voice acting) and the game was at the beginning for PSP and PSVita so of course it can't be as smooth and good for the graphics/gameplay compared to now with God Eater 3 who are just for PS4 and PC, now you can clearly see the difference and that's good.

As i recently have been trying to let people know play god eater resurrection if you're looking to get into the game resurrection is the best of the series and is just a remake of the first game with a new story arc added. god eater 3 from what i played will just be an altered version of resurrections gameplay but as it stands GE:R is on ps4 vita and Steam so pick it up and see if this series interests you and if so don't play the port of GE2 its garbage and will sully all the good will resurrection would have gained unless 3 directly references 2 i'd just pretend that two doesn't exist and that three is the real sequel.

@@ericnick4498 its not that i hate two i actually like the story but when compared to GE:Burst Or Resurrection the quality isn't there it's like they just cobbled it together from scraps. The controls aren't as good when going from Res to Ge2, or even just Burst to two as between Burst and two they changed the way bullet customization works and made it much more restrictive which is one change i just don't like as they've carried it over into the latter games. So just to make it succinct The port was a low quality effort, combat is much more restrictive and sluggish, and story wise the abilities don't matter as the main characters in that game are the only ones who have the ability they use thus making it useless in a sequel. So unless they say that these new God eaters also use blood arts 2 is meaningless and should just be skipped unless you want to know what the main characters from one where doing after the first game.

The anime also deviated from the story a bit, and it's not exactly canon. The canon main character for GE/GEB/GER is Yu Kannagi (but of course, when someone plays the game, they can change the MC's name, gender, and appearance). That's what I meant by the origin story for the Oragami first appearence.

Seems to me that they move key people around to help out where its needed or wanted, at least in bandai's case. I feel more comfortable comparing this to Code vein than to monster hunter.
