16:09 not only in Kerala, but in every state from Southern part of India(as far as I know), they celebrate 1st period just like a wedding, they invite relatives, do it as a function. I am very surprised knowing that this doesn't happen in other states, this function is very common here and we call it as saree/half saree ceremony. And for boys, it is dhoti function which is not as common as saree functions, but still most of the ppl do that function.

With all due respect, only better education could probably change backwards mindset. We should teach class 8 students about sexual health, menstrual cycle & birth control. Only science students get to know about this in class 12, chapter 3 & 4. Even girls barely know about all this in detail expect science students.
