I think the desires should not be put first before God but people should be allowed to envision and have goals for their lives and God ultimately has the upper hand.His ways are better than ours anyways…one should not fall on placing time limits on God but they can be allowed to see themselves as their higher selves but at the end of the day God directs and orders our lives…hence why the scripture’submit your plans to the Lord…’ A life without a vision is also dangerous.

I became Christian 2 years ago and I found it so hard to make goals or resolutions ever since. I don’t know how to plan for a future that isn’t in my hands, you know? I like certain things and I want them but ultimately His will be done and what a waste it would be if I died next week but I spent my last days “manifesting” cars, money, and marriage instead of seeking God

This is so true, I remember towards the end of the year most of my resolutions were not met, and I was quick to say " 2024 was the worst year". I was wrong. God was still faithful even in my failure, I shouldn't have measured His goodness based on this.
