All of the gods can morph their physical form to look however they want to look. But Aphrodite canonically looks like whoever the person looking at her finds the most attractive... And, shocker, the first time Percy meets Aphrodite she looks vaguely similar to Annabeth which he then proceeds to ignore that fact for the next like 2 years 🤣🤣🤣 So I'm actually also VERY interested to see how the show is going to do that. If they're going to use CGI to alter the actresses face to look similar to Annabeth's actress or if they're just going to try and find someone who has similar facial features to her...

Yeah, Athena births her children in that way because she is one of the 3 Virgin Goddesses so she can't actually have sexual intercourse to make a child 🤷‍♀️ but I assume the author, Rick, did want Athena to still have children at Camp... So he made it work lmao.

It was a complete change of direction that detached the series from the book. In book the "Tunnel of Love" have the purpose to trap and show Aphrodite and Ares live to Olympus to humiliate them. So Ares intention was to use this to humiliate Poseidon and Athena (eternal rivals) showing their son and daughter in a false romantic trap. That's the reasons why Percy got piss off with Ares and even made him calls Ares a coward egging a queue between them.

The reason why Percy got really angry at Ares was because Ares has an aura... He makes everyone around him feel a lot more angry... So Percy might have been slightly frustrated with Ares but he wasn't actually super angry with him. He was just made to feel very angry because that's Ares' influence on the people around him.
