He slayed the beasts. After that act Hera removed her magic and Hercules seen to his amazement that he had killed his own family.

God of War was a part of my childhood, with Chains of Olympus and this one, Gow III, being the most recognizable to me. Kratos's journey up to this point is beautiful, and seeing again his death at the end of this game, now as an adult, I appreciate much more the symbolism behind it and the true intentions and feelings of the characters. I don't care what Barlog claims, this Kratos here was far deadlier and more powerful than the one in Scandinavia (besides, Eric Williams aka Ragnarok's director contradicts him and DID say that young Kratos was stronger). Maybe physically, he grew stronger with age, but what's the use of that when he was holding back the entire time against the Norse gods? THIS Kratos wouldn't have given a damn, he would've ripped off Baldur's arms and head to bypass his "invulnerability", and he would've caved in Thor's head. Especially with all his Greek weapons and magic intact. And again, so what if he is or isn't physically stronger now, as an old god? He was already strong enough back then to topple an entire pantheon. The Norse gods are SO lucky that they met older Kratos.

I was wishing we'd get a moment in ragnorok with the old play style against a final boss or something, where Kratos must go all out to beat him and the camera shifts to the old perspective and you can do the old combat. That would have been awesome

It wouldnt have fit the overall theme, he fought just as hard to not be the God of War he once was; he would have left al the realms in ruins just like Greece

My main dissapointment with the norse games is that there wasmt a moment where the music gave us back a fusion of the norse theme with kratos old theme. Hell when you first fight with the blades in gow4 i was hyped if i got to hear KRATOS HOLD DEVILA POT OF TEA but i was let down

The thing I Love about Kratos, is that he gave Zero Fucks. No matter how big you were, he was going to take you down. I've played through the original series, including the PSP games, and enjoy all of them, but III is definitely my favorite.

Kratos's redemption started in GOW 3 after knowing Pandora sacrifice herself for his revenge and Santa Monica team holds that redemption till Ragnarok which is truly amazing
