“This path you walk… vengeance. You will find no peace. I know.” That’s honestly an epic line when you understand the background of Kratos! And this game is still a masterpiece in 2024, and will always be!
@mrsiracha771710 ай бұрын
It’s very similar to batman’s quote to Robin. “Justice, not vengeance. Justice… not vengeance.”

Almost everything Kratos says in the newer games is "epic" when you know the background
@chimericalical11 ай бұрын
So, random thing Kratos says that’s not in this video I wanted to mention. Early in the game Kratos tells Ateyus “Focus on your aim and don’t worry about speed. Speed will come in time.” And this is some of the absolute best advice for learning literally anything. 1. Focus on being accurate and doing it right 2. In time speed will come with familiarity and practice. Anyone who can do something fast is very familiar with what they are doing quickly to such a degree they’re not really even thinking of it anymore.!

It's amazing how much motion capture brings to games like this. 30s of watching Baldur act and I'm like "is this the physics guy from Lost?" *quick googling* yes it is! Actors being able to bring not only their voice, but also their mimics and body language into those characters really makes them special.

I really enjoy the fact that they integrated the cinematics in the gameplay. I mean, you don't even feel the change between the actual gameplay and the cutscenes. Give the developers some awards. This really means to put your shoulder to work and create a masterpiece. What a great time to be alive. Never been so excited, until I played this game. The voice actor for Kratos and the Mo-Cap actor for him both deserve Emmy’s and Oscars for this. It very much gives off the vibe of a man who’s been through a very rough journey full of UNBRIDLED RAAAAAAAAAGE!!!! That’s very much doing his best to never be that angry angry monster consumed by bloodlust and surrounded by death, destruction, misery and despair for years on his journey of vengeance in a war against the gods of Olympus. Like after playing through GoW1-3 you’d think it would be a shock to the system to rarely see Kratos screaming like a madman… but it’s not. They way he acts is incredibly relatable and very believable. He someone full of regret for his past doing his best to be better. And the memories he wished the gods would erase still haunt him, but he’s much better at handling them and just seems like someone who most of all wants peace at this point. Also… does anyone else wish Kratos was their dad? I’m not crying, you’re crying. Like his approach to parenting is the only correct approach: make sure the individual in your care grows to become better than you and they get a quality of life that’s better than yours. This applies to teachers, coaches, politicians, etc.. Of the many skills we have to pass down it’s always a great moment when the student has overcome the teacher. I remember the expression of sheer joy on my track coaches face when I beat his personal best time or how much joy I felt when my younger brother beat me in Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the first time while I was going all out. So, we’ve (older bother and I) let him win before. I’m 9 years older than him. This particular time the 3 of us are playing around and older brother and I are using teams and techniques we’re experimenting with against him (a typical tactic we employ against someone of lesser skill because this gives them a chance to win while you’re practicing and testing out new things. So you both can learn and gain from this). He is beating out experimental stuff. It’s not even close. We can’t use him as a practice dummy with our new stuff anymore. So we switch over to our main teams thinking fine whatever guess he’s ready for this now, he’s gonna lose though. He does lose. Initially while we’re both holding back. Then he starts making the matches closer and closer, so we stop holding back more and more and more until we are both putting our all into these matches trying to not be the first one of us he actually wins in a legitimate match. Then he gets me. And I’m supposed to pass the controller but I needed my salty run back, I get got again. Old brother is all “let me show you how it’s done.” He gets got too. And then we have to actually put thought and strategize how to beat this little shit… and that was the moment. When he was on our level and playing with us and learning from us and putting in the work and his creativity created this style of play that was a weird combination of things I taught him, things older brother taught him, and things he came up with himself and he was a legitimate threat in MvC2 to us at that moment. Now a days he’ll kick both our asses in that game with better versions of the shit we taught him how to do. And he pulls in a decent Chuck of change at the weekly local tournaments near him. And to be real, I never thought of playing fighting games to pull in extra money until my younger brother showed me that a thing you can do. And he makes the cycle repeat and is teaching his son how to play fighting games, change a tire, drive, cook, clean, etc and the lessons he’s passing down tk his son are lessons he learned from his older siblings, parents, friends, etc combined with lessons he learned from life. And the lessons he was taught by his siblings, friends, parents, etc were lessons they learned from other and life etc etc etc… And this repetitive cycle of doing the best you can to ensure those you are teacher exceed your ability and become greater than you… Kratos gets that. That’s pretty much the driving force behind all of his actions directed at his son.

Kratos' new voice actor isn't bad, but the old one simply had a madman feel to him that i really miss.

Thats because he matured as a person, and tried to forget his past, he doesn’t sound the same because he doesn’t act the same whatsoever

I like that sony is waiting for the PS5 release so they can make GOW5 to sell all the ps4 that still on they stock. And them they make a remake to sell it on ps5 like 1 year later...

While playing this, it just reminds me of Joel and Ely's relationship.. If you played the early GoW games, you will understand why Kratos is so hard on Atreus.. So glad he matured so much

That was three hours of my life I'll never get back, and yet I am strangely ok with that. A great story worthy of the Greek mythos and the Nordic sagas.

If I had to choose one person to help me survive an apocalypse it would be Kratos. “Hey um Kratos my guy we need to gather some lumber. I’m going to head into town and grab some pharmaceuticals for general pain relief could you help with that?” Simply responds “Fuck off.” Then as I walk back through the forest we were set up in I realize he cut down every fucking tree in a mile radius.

How is kratos still even alive? He put a sword through himself and bled out at the end of part 3.

He is cursed to live forever
@grizzakaful4 жыл бұрын
@@Gravewalker350 Actually, he's cursed where he can't kill himself, least by the official novelization of the game. Who knows how far that goes, but guess we'll see come ragnarok.

@thepizzaguy84772 жыл бұрын
@@papirooster6236 that doesn't mean he's invincible, a simple snapped neck kills gods. A stab wond like that is death. However, in the novelization, Kratos is cursed to survive any attempt on his own life

do you remember in God of War 2, kratos has the power of the sister of fate? maybe it can describe this. 🗿
