God of War: Chains of Olympus takes place before the original game, and leads us all the way to that fateful moment where Kratos ends up on the edge of the Suicide Bluffs.

@@FecalMatador I've had this conversation with many people and lots of them don't seem to understand the cosmology of God of War. Basically each Pantheon are in their own Separate Plain of Existence and they have their own Multiverses and Stars, Galaxies, Planets and their own creation (humans) are on Midgard for the Norse Pantheon, Earth for the Greek Pantheon, I don't know what Earth/World is called in the Egyptian Pantheon though. So the God of War Verse is basically an Omniverse.

Wow, Kratos is really freaking smart if he can just nonchalantly widdle down and carve up a perfect working woodwind flute in one sitting by a tree. And then his daughter just Dewey Coxed it on the first try and plays a lovely slow tune of her own lol. He spends all his time training and fighting too so how did he even have the time to become a master reedmaker? I guess he's just great at anything he tries lol

Kratos could have made a deal with Persephone here. Killing all Olimpus for spending eternity with his daughter. He eventually ended up doing it in God Of War 3 but with no reward. If he had made a deal like that here, the saga could have ended with a happy ending...sorta. But I doubt Persephone would have believed that Kratos would have ended up killing Poseidon, Hades, Chronos, Gaia and Zeus all by himself. This game is cool. I love the story in all God Of War games. Now I only need to watch "Ghost Of Sparta" to finish it. Hopefully we get another God Of War for PS4 one day :)

I just learned that this game suffered a rushed development. No wonder certain things felt missing from it! No Morpheus, less enemies to fight, uninteresting armors or lack of them (Gauntlet Armor for instance). Chains really could have been something truly awesome. Thank the Gods for Ghost of Sparta though.

And if they decided to use TC in the new God of War, they would make Kratos more fits TC. Because they used the facial capture as you can see in Raising Kratos, that is why the new Kratos does not feel fits TC, more fits Christopher. Otherwise, the new Kratos would not be the same one as what we saw from the game. Basically, the character is tailored to the actor.

As a TC's Kratos fan, I just want to say that TC stayed with Kratos through different difficult times such as lost wife and daughter, lost mother and brother, TC knows Kratos better than anybody else in my opinion. As long as he is still capable to act and voice, there is no reason to replace him. People always have the wrong idea of TC only knows how to make Kratos angrier and yell holler, but they forgot he also went through those Kratos' difficult times with a gentle and soft voice. I swear the voice actress for Calliope sounds a lot like the voice actress for Clementine. If Kratos was being absolved of his sins when he left his weapons on the Forsaken Tree, wouldn’t the ashes of his dead family disappear? That would’ve been cool to see. I suppose the village oracle who cursed him made sure that the ashes would never be removed. However, I don’t get why his tattoos disappeared instead. Alright, let’s break down the plot here, just so it makes sense for me. Persephone no longer wants to live in torment and she feels betrayed by the gods. She is sick of being married to Hades, who she doesn’t love. She wants the world to end so she can finally be free, so she needs the pillar that holds up the world to be destroyed. She cannot do this alone, so she needs help. That’s where Atlas comes in. She frees Atlas from his bonds, so he is no longer imprisoned in the pits of Tartarus. But Atlas alone cannot destroy the pillar. *He* also needs help, so that’s where the power of the sun comes in. That’s why he kidnaps Helios and takes him from the sky. I am willing to bet that Persephone had perhaps anticipated some resistance from the gods. I believe she knew about Morpheus (the god of dreams), so that’s also why she chose Helios to be taken. She knew that once Helios was out of the picture, the world would be cast in darkness and Morpheus could put the gods to sleep. Did I get all of that? Damn. That is quite the plan. I just noticed that even though they were technically part of the story, we never actually got to see Morpheus or Helios, did we?
