God Of War How To Kill The Frost Ancient Fast & Easy Way Gameplay Walkthrough Game Guide PS4 Pro

This video shows the PS4 game God Of War, this is how you take out the Frost Ancient, it's by far the most difficult of the 3, The Stone Ancient is the easiest, The Soul Eater is the next most difficult then it's this one The Frost Ancient,

The Reasons why this one is the worst is even a glancing blow from it's ice beam will kill you,
Also the window where the chest is open only allows 1 throw of your axe so you need to be ready when it opens aim and throw, the Frost Ancient's chest is only open for 1/3rd of the time of the Stone Ancient's,
I counted 12 sucessful hits to take him out,
Every succesful hit is slowed down so you can see the aim point,
This part of the game is where you go back up the mountain again,
The Region is The Mountain in the Midgard area,
A few tips i have found to help are,
You need to lead the Ancient to the back right column as there is more protection for you from the ice blasts, the column at the very end of the video,
It also allows you to throw the axe while most of your body is covered by the coloumn,
If it's the other way round you will get killed by the Ancient's blast,
Stay away from the balls of light that fall from the ancients chest the game prompts you to throw them back at him, more times that not you will get killed, it is hard enough as it is,
These balls of light also explode after a certain amount of time, causing you damage, so stay well clear of them,
I wan't to make this as easy as possible to follow,
There is nothing more annoying that fighting a boss for hours and not getting anywhere,
So i have found aim towards the right of the Ancients chest,
Even better towards the end if the Ancient turns and allows the axe to go inside it's chest that seems to get larger damage,
There is always the option to change the difficulty setting down to defeat this boss,

Hi, This is the problem with new games, I had issues with a 4" black border all the way around my TV, This was for the whole playthrough of the game, which i have now completed, Even on my gameplay recordings have the black border, no one said anything so i thought this was how it was supposed to be, But it's not, all games ask at the beginning to set the border on your TV God Of War didn't, There have been 22 updates in like 3 weeks fixing glitches adding features that were not in the game at launch like photo mode, new game + is potentially being added but it is to late for me, All my issues have tainted my enjoyment of the game, I suspected that this boss could be bypassed, But later in the game there is another one that if you leave him alone he doesn't wake up, But i got locked into a loop of die respawn at the start again, Atreus just runs over and wakes up this Frost Ancient, And i wanted to find the easiest way to kill this boss, As i could see people giving up with this boss as he is by far the hardest Ancient to beat so far, His chest isn't open long enough for more than 1 throw of the axe at a time, So hold L2 to aim and hold R2 to increase the damage which is shown with the flash of light on the axe in this video, when you let the axe go it deals more damage to the target, If you have that ability unlocked, I think there might be a fast travel point inside the mountain which may allow you to go back and fight him, You need to be at a fast travel point to access the fast travel locations if you have unlocked that in the game, I think there may be around 3 chests to collect in the Frost Ancient area as well, One where you pull out a block from behind a blockage and stand on the top, One to the left and right of where i kill the Frost Ancient.

I am sure you will be able to fast travel to somewhere in the mountain, The stone piles with the blue light, You can fast travel from one to another, Maybe try it when you have completed the main game, As there are favours like free the dragons and destroy Thor's statue to do, There is also mist echo farming, to upgrade your armour, pointless if you have completed the game, And the Musslepeim challenge which is impossible without farming huge amounts of mist echoes.

Yes, i know it's not nice to get the game spoiled, But people do it on purpose, If you get stuck again check back i may have done a video on it, Everything i got stuck on i have covered already in a you tube video, Some of these bosses i have had to play from 50 to 150 times to get a good enough video to show the easy way to kill them, The end boss battle is probably the hardest boss in any game i have ever played, You will know which one it is when you get there, I am waiting for new game + to be added to the game it will be a more fun play through, Depending how they choose to set it up.

This is a good game but damn hard if you play it on give me a challenge mode, I reckon i have died at least 1500 times in this game, I am not great either but i want to create guides that make the bosses easy to beat, There is nothing worse than watching someone else do it and make it far to complicated especially when you are just learning the controls, It doesn't help when the game tries to force you to do it one way.

I played on Give Me God Of War and in my opinion it was faster and easier to: 1. lock onto him (press down L3 if I remember correctly) 2. aim at his weak spot while it's covered up 3. throw the axe as soon as it opens 4. keep mashing X to doge away if he locks onto you or block with your sheild if he's doing a "lazer sweep" 5. pick up the bits that fall out of him and throw it at him to stun the ancient 6. use a light runic atack to wipe out most of his health (I like "wrath of the frost ancient").

I ditched that s guy at first. You don't have to fight him. The one way I found easy to kick his ass is when he opens his chess to throw little bombs, you just him with Spartan Race and his health will sink like a stone since your hits land on the open chess

Thank you for this video, I went insane trying to figure out ways to drop the urns on his head, or make the damn crystals stick to him or under and explode, thinking that by virtue of it being a "frost giant" my "frost axe" would do nothing. GoW is pretty good for what it is, but man the design of it is really poor in some encounters.

Fastest way to kill an ancient is to attack it with light runic attack "wrath of the frost ancient", just aim at his chest while they are open and he will be over with one shot

The great thing about god of war is there are different ways to kill bosses, i try to find the easiest ways so it is easy for people at all skill levels to copy, Do it the way you feel comfortable, There is no right or wrong way as long as the boss is defeated and you can move onto the next part.

yes there may be lots of other ways but i try to find easy to repeat ways to take down bosses, it depends what play style you prefer, and if you have the skill to get back into cover, as his attacks do a lot of damage, as do the balls of light that fall from him.

your aim has to be perfect, this is why it is slowed down, you need to get it to bounce inside his chest, throwing at an angle to him seems to do more damage, a hit from him wipes out your health, so be careful, use the pillar as cover, others have said drop the burning lanterns on his head, or throw the balls of light h drops back at him, but i want it to be easy not even more difficult than it already is.

This is a very long process. Just use talisman of the realms and use wrath of the frost ancients light runic attack when the ancient is about to open his chest

Yes, that is a tricky one, You can throw back the balls that fall off him but they blow up after some time and do damage to Kratos, Others have dropped lamps on him and that has worked, But i went for easy to follow, not everyone has the skills to beat this guy, The final battle is epic in this game.

There was a fast travel point hidden very close to this point, It you opened it you could get back, i never used one myself though so i don't know how they work, You don't have to fight him.
