What did everyone think of this fight? For me personally this boss is at the peak when it comes to Ragnarok bosses: very satisfying to fight against (parrying, runic combos) while being extremely difficult (for me atleast being underleveled, 1 hit and you're sent to the shadow realm) 😂 Also, I'm loving the leviathan axe right now as you probably noticed. That 3 hit finisher Pride of the Frost combo is insane!

While I personally struggle more with Gña, I agree that Hrölf is the perfect combination of difficulty and fun. There's just something about how none of his attacks feel unfair but still manage to be deadly and keep you on toes even after lots of practice.

Great display of masterful timing of parries, dodges and attacks. The fight looked so great! Would love to see you use realm shift builds as you did back then in gow 2018. For me that was peak satisfaction watching it.

Truthfully speaking he was actually very easy for me on GMGOW but I’m lvl 9 😭 Regardless he was easy because I spent a good time learning all the other berserkers moves and the king is pretty much a copy and paste

One thing that always amazes me about your gameplay is your ability/confidence to execute single dodges (without rolling) so well. Makes the the game looks so smooth. Kratos is almost never rolls when you play

Fun Fact, Hrolf Kraki was actually the Danish King. Hrolf was described as a scylding, a member of a legendary Danish royal family. The Nephew of Hrodgar, Grandson Healfdene, and son of King Helgi of Lejre and Queen Yrsa. When his mother was raped and his father is kileld by Swedish King Adyls, Hrolf raised an army of 12 Berserkers to wage war to avenge his Parents.

It took me roughly four hours to get the tells and strategy for this boss fight in GMGOW difficulty on my first playthrough. Doing it underleveled, with enemy with red healthbar and taking no damage is absolutely crazy. You are a monster my friend. I’d say it is impossible. But you prove me wrong

Just a tip, hopefully it helps people that have come here for help. This guy did an amazing job but if while you are fighting any opponent and they move and it’s hard to keep track of them. Just press R3 (ps5) and it will auto lock on them. Unfortunately I didn’t realize this until about 75% thru the game 😅

I struggled with this boss at lvl 8 in gmgow, but by facing him at lvl 9 it made the fight easier. But this guy... he took it on while extremely underleveled.

Imagine this fight from King Hrolf Kraki's perspective. You've crushed countless warriors beneath you, and more than enough heroes have tried to dethrone you. The Realm knows your path of destruction and your unending might. You've vanquished all of your foes, and fought every manner of soldier and beast. Even in death, your soul remains formidable and undaunted. And in walks a foreign god wearing a primitive leather pauldron, and you can't even touch him. Early in your battle you're pinned up against the wall you created to trap your opponents, but now you're the one who is being run up against the ice with a flurry of flame. The fire burns unlike any ember in Muspelheim, any magical fire, and feels as if it is of a different world entirely. Your enemy switches between his three weapon sets with light-sundering speed, and his resolve only seems to build as the fight progresses. The only time he runs is to reposition for an attack, or to take advantage of an opening he created. Any swing of your blade bounces off of his shield, any blast of bifrost and seidr magic is dodged with a casual sidestep. None of your steps have been careless, none of your attacks have been miscalculated, and have fought as savagely as you always have, yet still you fail.
