Often times we as people find ourselves thinking about our place in the world and what we should be. At times adversities change our perspectives, beliefs, or purpose, sometimes we win sometimes we lose, and more often than not we wonder who we really are. But reminding yourself of your own name is more than enough to keep one going as Kratos so eloquently put it.

Having an uncontrollable clone of yourself with different personalities that talk to people isn't a good. It's good when you want to revalue yourself but it overall it best to not let them be elsewhere due to the potential problem they might cause.

Bitter is a perfect example of that. As before they even met him, his foul mouth personality made atreus confused as to why he was so different when summoned. This can lead to people believing what the personalities consist reflect the user of thier reputation and thier exposed emotions. Hell the fact he has to take them every so often and remember everything the personality specters have done can be even more embarrassing and stressful. Not really a good ability if you ask me since even ratatoskyr even let's his specters do what they want most of the time.

Let's assume he somehow travelled between the universes. It has never been brought up in the game at all? Third, let's even forget all that ( even though they are really big plotholes if we assume your theory ), Mimir, Freya , Tyr, Odin all had heard stories of Kratos. How did those stories came if they are in completely different Universes? There is no controversy. It's clear as day that they are just geographically different locations, not different Universes. Then Cory said that, "Kratos travelled north so he reached Norse land. If he had travelled to a different direction he would have reached Egypt." All the gods controll all aspects of their land locally. And magical artifacts except for primordial things don't work in different realms.
