1) nice shirt 2) this is by far one of my favorite Dax songs. You can tell he was possesed by what can only be described as the Holy Spirit. He hit the nail on the head. Owned the beat too. In the context of the song take this gift is referencing the gift of life and the vessel he is referencing is his body. In short for the gift of life he will give the gift of sacrifice, at least that is my take away. :)

Taking the gift of life God has bestowed upon him and giving himself as a vessel to God, i.e. living his life in accordance to God's will for him and not his own will. This can refer to the verse in scripture that asks of Christians to pick up their own cross and follow Jesus.

The bible states we need to reduce ourselves so that god can grow in us, and that we are vessels of his holy spirit, so thats what he means by return a vessel, take the gift bestowed and return a vessel for god.
