I completely dissagree when it comes to what you said about him building a city, building a city is not a mistake and it’s not unscriptural as you stated, to cut it short, having "Christian" city is a sign excellence, dominion for the body of Christ and it shows that God can do it anything, "your dream is to build a house, mine it’s build a city, nothing wrong with that.." a city with Christian rules… and we all know which agenda is moving around the world so it can be of great benefit.. John Alexander Dowie is not a man we should regard as a man of God. And it is not, as claimed, that he started well but ended badly; he was bad from the start, wrapping his practice of spiritualism in Christian language. Even while in Australia, long before he moved to America, Dowie promoted himself as a “Christian spiritualist” and spoke at public meetings on how he “became a medium”. This is well-documented. When he arrived in America, he continued to advertise himself as a “medium”. Rather than being one of “God’s generals”, Dowie is just another example of how readily gullible and biblically illiterate Christians are unable to discern between the true and the counterfeit. The claim made within this video that we should “follow the man’s faith, not his doctrine” demonstrates my point, because a man’s faith is built entirely upon his doctrine; a man’s doctrine determines what he has faith in (and how he behaves).

I appreciate the information provided but surprised that you didn't mention about Dowie's miserable defeat against Mirza Ghulam Ahmad claimed as the true coming of Christ in spirit and promised Mehdi of Islam. You can google to know about the challenge given by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad to Dowie and his defeat, even American newspapers of that time recognized that fact. With the grace of God now there is a mosque built in Zion by Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam, believers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as true Christ in spirit and Mehdi. The moto of this organisation is "Love for all and hatred for none". Long live humanity and love.

Isn't Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani the same funny guy who said that his god Yalash told him that Jessus christ died in Kashmir India? Mirza Qadiani also drew cartoons of Dr. Dowie in his book Haqqeeqat ul Wahi. His books contain vile and vulgar language and obscene poetry. Ahmedis consider him to be a prophet and second coming of Jessus.
