As a former educator in FL, specifically serving as a English/reading teacher and Literacy Coach, I can confirm that the products of the school system are actually illiterate and many functionally illiterate. I worked with many seniors for my last 5 years trying to help them pass the state reading test to earn their diploma. Many didn't every year. It was challenging to teach basic skills and what they should have learned for 13 years. 😢 It was due to a lack of resources either. Teachers had every intervention program that exists at their disposal. Very sad situation. Some students who came from foreign countries especially Haiti could not write either.

As a Christian elementary teacher of 30 years it saddens me to hear the statistics of 8th grade readers. Unfortunately on so many levels my hands are tied. First, there is little support from parents in regard to putting education before sports, behavior expectations and attendance. Second, retention is frowned upon so students are passed on from grade to grade not because teachers don’t request it. The expectations are growing at a rapid rate and it is unsustainable at the current rate. It’s going to collapse because of the demands and lack of support. (I work 2+ hours every night just to keep up!). Education needs A LOT of prayers. May the Holy Spirit lead people that are not in it for specific prayers and to open eyes to the many, many ways it is failing our children and the generations to come.

In 1999 I had a profound experience that I won't go into detail about here. In short I was caught up and met the Jesus face to face. During this experience there was a supernaturally large wave that hit me and filled me with such power I thought I would explode..it was then that I saw the Lord and fell at His feet as a dead man. I'm still waiting for the fulfillment of that experience. I have not yet felt anything even close to that power. The end of this experience ended with His command to open the door and tell them I'm coming.
