If they put Alan Wake in Fortnite, just like how they put Alan Wake in DBD. I choose to accept that any appearance of Alan Wake in any medium is an attempt by him to write his way out of the dark place in the 13 years between Alan Wake 1 and 2. So that means that he wrote Fortnite into existence and possibly created all the crossovers in a hope that one of the other characters in the game could help free him.

Whoever is reading this, I wanted to say I hope you have a great day and that God loves you so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to die on a cross for your sins and He rose again from the dead three days later. God Bless! And also, He doesn't want you to go to Hell, but He wants you to go to Heaven with Him but you have to be Saved. How do I get Saved you might ask? Ask Jesus to come into your heart and your life and for Him to be your Lord and Savior forever. 4. So my personal theory about the whole "Did Zane write Alan into existence or did Alan write Zane into existence?" is rather simple: It was neither Zane nor Alan who created the other writer but rather the Old Gods of Asgard are who created both Zane AND Alan. As well as some of the events and characters in some of the other games. In the song "The Poet and the Muse" the verses retell Zane's story (the opening line even name drops Tom as the titular Poet, "There's an old town wrought with the mystery of Tom, the Poet and his Muse") but the chorus is entirely about Alan and his quest (Now to see your wife set free/you will need the witch's cabin key/Find the Lady of the Light). We also know that the Old Gods were formed and touring at about the same time as Zane doing his thing and Alan's birth if not before that if we compare the Anderson Brothers' apparent age to Hartman's during the game. So the timeline of events lines up for it being the Old Gods as well.
