It's always interesting hearing about sea creature fossils found up mountains, and I remember reading about a.... coral reef found in the desert, which is also fascinating, and not surprising of course. I found this online, but have omitted the usual millions of years part of the quotation! "The remains of a coral reef have been discovered in the middle of a desert in Australia. Southern Australia's Nullarbor Plain, where the reef was found, is now a 76,000-square- mile desert consisting of limestone bedrock" Newsweek Published Sep 09, 2022

Question .... about the "maleness" of God . Where do female characteristics come from if not from God? Thanks team ❤

Yes, I'm afraid my question either wasn't understood or they didn't have an answer. I have though about it more and I would present it like this. My understanding of what John was saying was - 1) Hebrew is a gendered language 2) God is always referred to in the male gender 3) Therefore it is wrong to refer to God in the female gender 4) And therefore it is wrong to refer to God as genderless My understanding is that French is a gendered language so we could make an analogous argument to see the problem. 1) French is a gendered language 2) The French always referred to ships in the female gender 3) Therefore it is wrong to refer to ships in the male gender 4) And therefore it is wrong to refer to ships as genderless It becomes clear that that is a bad argument, however we can make it into a good argument by rewriting it as 1) French is a gendered language 2) The French always referred to ships in the female gender 3) Therefore it is wrong, in the French language, to refer to ships in the male gender 4) And therefore it is wrong, in the French language, to refer to ships as genderless But it is not wrong in the English language to refer to ships as genderless, it fact is correct. Thus we cannot conclude gender by swapping from a gendered language to a non-gendered language . CAVET - I don't know if "gendered language" is the correct term for languages like Hebrew and French, and "non-gendered language" is the correct term for languages like English. Bur hopefully people will see the point. God is Spirit. In English it is meaningless to refer to a spirit as "male or female". If we take Glenn's answer as the maleness does not refer to anatomy but to roles. Then your question (@sandiec6063) becomes the obvious one. Where do the female roles come from and does God not have them? God has the Male roles of leadership, protecting and providing but He also has the female roles of nurturing, caring and submissiveness (Jesus submits to the Father) etc. So I don't find this "gendered language" argument has much meaning when we think about what it even means.... I, of course, do not know everything and if I'm wrong I'm willing to learn.
