This is confirmation. My heart issue is forgiveness; my mind is made up to release to God the people who have hurt me and forgive them, giving them the grace God gives me; however, my heart hasn't completely healed to completely forgive them like I've thought I had. The fact that they can trigger me and do things that remind me of my trauma with them and it makes me sad or angry remembering these painful things - this shows me I'm not over it like I should be, so it has to be pruned out.

Mainly my belief that obedience would move His hand and make things happen faster. The only one I can remember that I’ve done that speaks to this somewhat is the video about Surrender but you may have already seen that. All I can say about this is that I’ve been in this place before, and I understand what it’s like to feel this defeated. And as much as I have empathy and sincere compassion for you, I also just encourage you to guard your heart very carefully. When we begin to feel resentment towards God in our hearts, it is such a dangerous place to be in. It’s easy to feel like we have a right to resent God because we’re in pain, but any resentment toward someone who is literally not capable of doing wrong is rooted in our own pride. And I say that as someone who also felt resentment in her heart during tough times, and had to repent for it! What helped me was reading some things that people have shared about times when they were angry with God. That snapped me back into the right headspace and I had to apologize to God. After that, I began to see some improvement - and I believe it’s because God rewarded me for humbling myself. Remember that he distanced himself from the proud. So any resentment is a heart issue and a pride issue that will do nothing but cause more pain and more loss. I hope this helps and God bless you. 💜💜💜

This message hurt my heart because God has been giving me signs that I’ve been absent and I have been for real. I know I have but for some reason I just don’t go back to Him. My heart aches. I’m having this battle in my heart, but at the same time I want to surrender to God forever. It’s so hard to explain but this video really captured the feeling and the realness of it in its fullness. I talked to my sister who is like my teacher and she said that I was a baby, my spirit is like a baby and that I would learn. God has chosen us and where we are now, God knows we will overcome. He chose us for a reason. We can’t do it without Him. I thought I was ready, but I’m weak. Very weak. I pray that everyone that is going through this in this season that we come out new with the strength of God evident in our presence. Hey! I encourage you to just start small. Start by aiming to read twice a week, one chapter. And committing to praying in the shower, which makes sure you pray for a good amount of time each day. If you’re specifically struggling with the word, Proverbs is an easy, quick read where you can just do a little each day without much effort. Read one and then spend five minutes chewing on the meaning. It’s a great way to get you back into the swing of things. Start small and build. It’s less intimidating that way! Hope this helps.

One of the main things that actually changes our character is reading the Bible frequently. A lot of people are trying to do things in their own strength, and failing, when the easiest way to change who you are over time is by getting in that word.
