I always wonder why we don't see Maelstrom that much in PvZ. Sure, it's an investment, but really not that big relative to many tech switches you could be doing in this game. I know I'm not a pro (far from it!), but from my own games and theory crafting, it seems Maelstrom should be a valuable tool in almost any PvZ. ...so why is it so underused in competitions? Have pros actually talked about that on forums or something? I'd like to know.

i think if you simply compare STorm vs Maelstrom, storm outperforms, same tech tree, less resource, easier to control. Maelstrom is only better vs mutalisk group

Dark archons pay for themselves only against mutas , otherwise is better to have 2 HT , 6 storms total.

@@rayleigh8103 feedback is great against defilers (weren't used in this match for some reason, DA was close to the defilers), and sometimes maelstrom works really well against hydras too.

10:05 Imo in this version Zerg explodes for several reason : - the "weakest" weapons in starcraft 1 are plasma cutter and 8mm bolts guns (and locust i guess but we don't talk about those) - Their metabolism is so on steroid upon "critical shutdown" (aka death) it just explodes like real life bio would in space. - ... it's just easier to animate and more spectacular lol.

When Sacsri stormed that bottom middle base, even after he swept the Nexus, he kept on pouring single units at the location to distract Snow while we threw that Overlord behind his workerline with the Lurkers. Absolutely brilliant.

And yeah, sound designs of Starcraft 1 is amazing, actually there's a lot of old games from that era which had this particuliar attention to sounds, like the original Unreal Tournament having better sound effects than the UT2004 25:20 quarante* -cinq, not quatre cinq :p

despite the inherent epicness of spawn broodlings on HT's, my favorite moment in this match was that endless stream of Zerg to take down that 6-o clock base of Snow. That really really felt like the power of the swarm!

I don't mean this to be rude, but you're so right with the game sound. I love hearing it and sometimes your voice volume is just a bit too high to be able to hear the music or the sounds. Like you though and haven't watched broodwar in a long time until the past few months and have subbed and watched most of your videos. I'm still waiting to see the most useless in the game - devourers xD

Good luck getting your templar that close to a defiler without getting sniped@@sir7586 the comparison is really storm vs swarm, and swarm is basically unlimited with lings. you get 2-3 storms if lucky and thats it.
