If just one person will pray for me out there I will be grateful. At 63 years of age, as I write on the last day of 2024, I have made my resolution from tomorrow to quit a 48 year smoking habit. It will be absolute and cold turkey. Multiple attempts and multiple failures are my track record, but this one must succeed. Firstly for the sake of my relationship with Christ, and also for the simple reason I sense my lungs and heart can't take any more. And I am aware we must treat our bodies as Christ's temple. I had twice had tumors removed but couldn't quit. Countless attempts trying every possible "method" to no avail. Always i wanted that " just a couple tokes to get past this stress..." GOD took away that desire - totally gone. Just a short verse in Corinthians made ALL the difference. It was about our bodies not being our own anymore, since JESUS had bought us at a great price....( i am paraphrasing. ) i am praying HE will do for you what HE did for me.

I've been a loyal soldier for Jesus for 7 years now doing a Bible podcast and passed out over 6,000 gospel Tracts and pray daily and the lord hasn't answered one single prayer for my sicknesses so I've grown discouraged therefore have become spiritual lazy and barely do my Bible podcast anymore my viewers ask me why I'm not doing my shows j feel betrayed after doing all that the Bible commands to do so I've backslid little bit I still read the Bible I'll spend 4 hours in a day reading the Bible and sermons etc but my prayer life is less I think it's because it seems like gods not listening

@hotopics877 I think we are all in the same boat when it comes to feeling discouraged at times. I have also been faithful for the last year and a half. I do my best to honor Him with all that I do. I dont ask Him for anything for myself, because I am just grateful that He pulled me out of a pit I was in with addiction. He truly saved me, and He owes me nothing. But I do carry a heavy burden for my children who have not been saved. I have been in prayer daily for them, but have not seen any change or answers to my prayers. Its been very hard to live and do the things I am expected to do for the Lord, and carry that burden. Its easy to become discouraged and wonder sometimes if I am doing something wrong, or if I need to do something more. So I understand what you are going through. It can become very overwhelming at times. But just want you to know that no matter what God puts us through, we need to trust in His word. Even when it feels impossible. Just know you are not alone. Dont give up, and keep the faith, because God knows your heart and all your sacrifice. You will be rewarded for your service to the kingdom. His plan for us is often bigger and more profound than we can see in the moment. It will all be worth it one day. "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth." (Colossians 3:2). Things of this earth are only temporary. God bless

I used to make New Year’s resolutions and like most other people, I’d give up after the first week of January. The reason was because I made goals about what “I” am going to do. “I am going to the gym every day” but one day it snows and I can’t go. “I am going to end my addiction” but the moment I get a temptation, it’s all over. So after I gave my life to Christ this past year, I won’t make a resolution but a prayer. That God makes me healthier so that I can better serve Him. That God leads me away from temptations so that I can better follow Him. That He gives me a career in which I can help others and share the love of God with as many people as possible. And that’s not something that’ll only last a week, a month, or even a year. When you trust in God, He helps you for the rest of your life and beyond.

Too often we expect God to give to us, yet we won't give him 100% of us, or even 5% of us. Then, we expect Him to give to us as we want, without thinking about His will for us. Get in your word, pray, and fast.

When was the last time you truly gave God 100% of yourself. Not 99.9%, but 100. Get in the Word, pray and fast, Tithe into a true God fearing ministry. Actually give all of you to Him, and He WILL move mountains for you. But don't mistake your will as His will. He isn't a vending machine, He will give to you as He wills it, not as you WANT. Not every single time.
