Maybe the difference is how both of them perceive their actions? I think its more a matter of how evil is presented in comparison to Heracles. Heracles was rewarded for being a hero, in comparison Jack could represent how true evil is never caught. Furthermore Jack represents how humanity and societies in general spawn evil.

Jack's intro terrifies me. And he makes a compelling villain argued villain-protagonist due to him making claims that those who call themselves heroes and heroines especially those who use love as a motive are liars and him being born without the ability to feel anything which makes him arguably a sociopath means he's the only one who can see through this hypocrisy and those who call him evil are correct but they themselves are liars who refused to accept what claims to be truth and the fact he admits that he is pure evil and doesn't try to justify it means he is telling the ultimate truth. In fact this pisses off most of the deities with the one who he pisses off the most being Aphrodite who claims that if Heracles had to lose to a human in the tournament it should've been to Adam as Adam proved himself to be a noble champion who arguably represented why humanity might deserve a 2nd chance and shouldn't be destroyed and that at the start she was agreeing with most of the deities and was all for wiping out humanity and after Lu Bu's loss was ready to continue siding with her fellow deities but Adam's "after all does a father need a motive to protect his children" speech to Zeus caused her to switch sides to humanity cause she saw that Adam was fighting on the side of humanity not because they deserved it but out of unconditional love the same unconditional love that causes a parent to risk everything even his/her life into protect his/her children from those who would threaten them and as she stated "if humans can be capable of showing that kind of pure love a beautiful untainted love for one another child or spouse then maybe humanity despite scum like you deserves a chance at redemption." Even though Adam's speech brings her over to humanity's side she still slaps Jack in the face when he insults Adam by calling him "a hypocrite who tried fighting Zeus like a fool and failed because of his idiotic mistake of fighting a battle that wasn't possible to win." and she proceeds to tell the infamous serial killer to not disrespect the memory Adam "the noble father of humanity" who gave his life in defense of his children in her presence and walks off.

It's not that shiva got nerfed or his looks got changed a little that irrigates me. It's the personality that he has. It's completely different from the mythology I mean I am not a geek to think everything should be perfectly correct but atleast the personality should have been the same. Shiva is calm and caring. To be fair, if this anime followed the myths, this tournament woundn't happen to begin with, the asian gods would rage at the ideia of erasing human kind, the greeks literaly needs humans to live, the asgardians (with the exception of thor who is the protector of humankind) have zero motives to hate or care for humans

Bro shiva will not do that because it will be against the wager. And even if he did there are other gods that will stop him. This is the mixture of all the religion, the strongest god is who the author decides is the strongest not what is written their relative texts. If he decides Agni can beat Shiva it will be so, even though you and I both know the massive power difference between the two. (For reference if the author decides Hestia is stronger than Poseidon, in that universe Hestia will be stronger than Poseidon)

hohohohoho strategy is the answer [SPOILER WARNING ON JACK UP AHEAD!!!!!] Adam was but copying Zeus attack and overusing his ability however it’s overusing that ability that made him die, it was a 50/50 he could win ; if he kept fighting longer without anything going in his eye he would have won but something (blood) got in his eyes making him go blind and finally dying While on the other hand Jack had a good strategy wich was to conseal his weapon at full view and bullshit the shit out of the gods (even the God of trickery Loki was fooled) by pulling out weapons that are not his divine weapon while he slowly and discreatly turn the whole arena/city of london into a deadly trap using his op glove (wich turn anything it tuch into a divine weapon) in clear Adams intentions were clear as day it was to simply protect his childrens but he lacked the strategy to do so While Jack didn’t have Adams passion for humanity (as also shown in his backstory) but he had the strategy to do what Adam was unable to
