Great vid. I’ve thought about a Godin for a few years now as i also have a gr55 synth.

You CAN upgrade the magnetic pickups as long as you keep the factory equipped 5-way switch intact. I'll post a video of my upgrade to my Godin xtSA once I've finished swapping pups. Stock pups are okay, but I want a better aftermarket set. This is a truly versatile guitar, especially for playing live.

He has a deluxe version of the xtsa that has 2 Seymour Duncan pickups (the same ones used in the LGXT). But the standard xtsa has godin pickups, that you might want to replace.

Hi guys, I’m a guitar maker, and got one of these guitars, and in the intro text, you wrote something wrong... the fingerboard isn’t made of ebony, but in a synthetic material they called Richlite, or something like that...keep kicking men, liked your vid !

My understanding is they were Ebony up to some time in 2013.

As others have said, earlier Godins have an Ebony board. My LGX-SA is USA made and has an Ebony fretboard and Seymour Duncan’s.

Put it this way. If there was a fire and I had to rescue some guitars - the Gibson, Gretsch, Hagstrom would get ignored. I would rescue my two Godin XTSA guitars. The build quality and materials are the best I've ever come across.

Thanks for an stimulating presentation which addressed many interesting points. I bought one recently and am amazed how many sounds you can get and how perfect the ergonomics are. The neck is extremely playable...must be the radius, scale length, action and frets.

Do you use it with a GR55? I have one on order and wonder if the Xtsa would be great for electric and synth playing. Also, are the humbuckers coil tapped? I thought I saw that mentioned somewhere.

He says there are 3 tone sources but the piezo hex pickup feeds both the piezo output and the 13 pin output. The 13 pin output is just a piezo output with a separate signal for each string.

When, or DO they actually talk about tonewood?
@rayg34085 жыл бұрын
I love when the guy in the right tries to start talking. And homeboy with the guitar just start shredding over him. Like hell no, dude. You ain't going to talk on this video. Hahaha🤣🤣🤣

Purely unadulterated acoustic sound....apart from loads and loads of reverb, chorus and/or phase...... Guys, please, what were you thinking of? I would have loved to have heard the unadulterated acoustic sound.
@Podcastforthewin4 жыл бұрын
Ya, I was thinking the same. They were to busy talking about everything other than the guitar

Tone wood? Or just wood? Wake up and stop being brainwashed. Tone wood is a term that means nothing but some think they sound smart by using it. Is mahogany tone wood or is it wood? What’s next, tone strings? Tone pickups? Tone fingers? Tone picks? You’d have to be tone deaf to not realize this term is a fad and people use because throng it makes themselves sound smarter or more knowledgeable. All these words had to do with a guitar’s tone. Thus, all these words are tone words. And I’m not picking on the fine gents in the video. I’m picking on every damn person who says tone wood. Choose the red pill.
