he was stripped of rank a little after eday for disobeying orders and going to save his dad. he was promoted back to sgt when kim died

Which after doing so trying to save his father gotr him 40 years into the slab and then he got his scar from a dog in the slab

the timeline of E day is 14 years between it and Gears 1, around year 10 is when Marcus gets put into the Slab and served only 4 years of his sentence when Dom pardoned him, as far as i know atleast.

I got the whole comic I’m about to dust it off and read E day. They might show a scene with the first carmine since in the comic he was gonna retire and out of no where he dies because ram and skorge emerge from the ground with there troops starting the war

I really believe this character of Marcus is PERFECT and realistic everything we heard happen to Marcus before gears 1 …. Will definitely be shown in this game

very interesting thoughts on the sliding mechanics! the old trailers already pointed to gameplay features such as chainsaw duels, meat shields or switch weapons with coop partners, so you could actually be right with this! do you remember the rumors 1-2 years ago that the next Gears was supposed to have an open world? 20:58 i think it's no coincidence that we see this wide view of the city... breaking through walls and using the environment to fight (such as the tv or flipping over furtintures) could also be possible gameplay features. the lancer's detachable bayonet might point to weapon customizations, because we will in fact see how the chainsaw lancer was invented. i also noticed marcus' new beltbuckle, that somehow reminds me on the locust symbol (even though it looks more like a german iron cross). the newspaper says "war is over" which is a reference to the pendulum wars ending 6 weeks ago. it's very likely that the opening will show the pendulum wars. what do you think? i hated the boring and empty open world parts in gears 5, but if i imagine the destroyed cities from gears of war 1 as an dynamic open world i could change my mind. imagine kryll at night and you have to hide in buildings, but locusts could break through walls. at daytime corpsers could destroy ways and you would have to go somewhere else... anyway i'm very excited for more 😀 thanks for your video, dude

What makes me question the scene of the drone slamming Marcus agaisnt the roof is how Barrack was ripping drones apart with his bare hands before his death. Or how Tai, Dizzy, and Marcus were able to chainsaw duel with Skorge. Or how Cole was able to lift a drone up on top of his lancer. I could be underestimating the strength of drones given that two of them were just barely holding back an unprovoked berserker.

I’m hoping that they bring back the more dark horror-like gameplay at least. I want to feel like I’m playing gears 1 for the first time again, but potentially even more dark than that considering it’s e-day we’re talking about here.

He was promoted Sargent in gears 1 BUT REMEMBER he went to prison so he had to start all over because he came out of prison he lost everything

Marcus was in person for 4 years and didn’t get out until closer to the end of the war that’s gears of war 1 not a year there’s a lot they could do within the 10 years between e-day and gears of war 1 and tai was the one who used the chainsaw on the lancer then Marcus gave the idea to his father from what I remember also the locust war was 17 years long there’s 10 years missing gow1,2,3 are the last 4 years

He was in prison for 4 years. Marcus and Dom have fought in the war for 10 years prior to the Slab.

@@MattyGears1583 that doesn’t make any sense the war was 14 years long that means that the war would be longer and that gears 1-3 is 10 years long you have it backwards e-day to gears 1 was 10 years long and Marcus was in prison for that time until dom came and got him out but everyone else was already out due to the cog needing more soldiers they just left Marcus

@@ShellyJamHD tai was actually part of Marcus squad at the start of the war since him tai and dom and so dude named Peter (I think I can’t remember his name ) got back together after the pendulum wars so yes we should see him

@@leslyeharrington3044 Bro I recently finished the audiobooks. He did 4 years in prison before Dom freed him. Not 10. He was fighting in the war for those other 10 years. Look it up.
