I was just talking to my Father In Law yesterday about people testing our kindness for weakness. Christ calls us to show love to our enemies but the one thing I'm learning is that it isn't always just our enemies that will rub us the wrong way. One of the hardest things for me to do is to look over offense but its something we as Christians must strive very hard to do. And trust me it takes God himself to help me with that because as I said its extremely hard for me and I can't do it alone. We must never think that resulting in the things that people do to us that is disrespectful and wrong is the right way to go cause it is not. Otherwise what scripture says would be a lie. Quick story, My coworker at my job would always belittle me. I would always return his evil words with kindness but he kept pushing and pushing until one day I finally cussed him out. I felt terrible and apologized to him but after that, he never talked down on me again. Now you would of thought that I would have felt good about the situation but instead, I said the devil is a lier! One, I will never think repaying evil for evil is the way to get respect. That's a lie the enemy wants us to believe and two, why would I feel the least bit bad for cussing someone out if it was the right thing to do. Also, why would I need to apologize to a person that I felt was doing me wrong?
