I just received my SL60ii Bi and will be returning it. I could not believe how loud the fan was. I was also looking at the Amaran 100x. Looks like I will be ordering that tonight. Great video!

I ordered same light SL 60ii. Also had to return them right away. I just couldn’t stand the fan noise!

Apart from the fan noise, this light looks perfect for my budget and needs. Is removing this fan noise in editing a big deal? And is there any alternative silent light in the same price range as the SL60ii Bi that people can recommend?

I sent the SL60ii BI back for a different reason. It was advertised with DMX control and I could never get it to work. Godox support was no help with this. I picked up the Aputure LS60X bi-color. No DMX control but it does have studio mode which restores the last dim level and color at power on. It also works with the Sidus Link app. The LS60X is in the Light Storm line and has a very nice build quality. The LS60X costs a little more than the Amaran but I am quite happy with it. I don’t think you’ll be sorry making the switch over to Aputure.

Bought the SL60 also. No remote came with it but I haven’t noticed fan noise myself. For context and era, mine delivered to me from Amazon on June 15, 2023

Good to hear. Yes, my original was fine too, seems very hit-and-miss. Glad you got a good one! You can get remotes off amazon but this again is why I'm moving away from it, I don't like disappointing customers.

Same happened to - Got the Godox UL60 which is the fanless version and it's amazing, it also allows you to go all the way down to just 1% on the power - the SL would only go down to 10%. I've also got a couple of the Godox UL150 which are just as good as the Aperture 120ds that I have but at a fraction of the price. For video fans are bad noise full stop, but the UL range from Godox don't have one, so it's happy days!
