Gods and Mysteries

A late-night video. (Well, late for me, anyway.) What is a god? It's a big, thorny question, but here, I walk through my perspective. I think that fundamentally, each god is a Mystery with a capital M. Behind the names and myths we give to them, there is something transformative that can only be understood through experience--and that, once we experience it, changes us forever.

Something I want to shout from the rooftops any time the Mysteries are mentioned is a quote from Fr. Richard Rohr: "a Mystery isn't something we *can't* understand, it's something we can *endlessly* understand". The Mysteries aren't just heady thought experiments for people off in ivory towers!
