I just beat Malenia with the same weapon (since i used it for most of my playthrough). This video was pretty helpful in finding a good strat for her, especially the Vow of the Indomitable waterfowl dance block. I used more jumping heavy attacks and got some insane damage by maxing that variable. Great fight

i’m spooked, this is near exactly the loadout i used to fight malenia. stonebarb cracked tear, vow of the indomitable, godslayer great sword, golden vow and flame give me strength, even black fireball for the phase change. cheers from your twin across the fog : )

Why wasn’t this just the God-slaying sword Master Hewg was working on? Would have been cool that he finished it up, and towards endgame on your last round table visit Hewg becomes a boss, having broken free of his chains and his mind affected he no longer recognizes you and a fight ensues where you have to defeat him and collect the weapon.

Because Hewg can't smith a weapon of this power. Only Iji can. It is mentioned that Iji's weapons were never sharp but always fucking wrecked people. Does that sword look sharp? No it looks blunt as hell. And as a club it's a literal spring. So iji can smith special weapons. Hewg can smith normal weapons to their maximum potential

how much dex do you have? I found that the damage was quite underwhelming.

40 dex and 60 faith (without godrick's great rune) , I show the entire build at the end of the video if you're curious Keep in mind that I use flame grant me strength and golden vow to get this damage, for even more damage you could use the blood sucking tear instead of the stonebarb cracktear which I use

With 50 dex and 27 FAI, I get basically 800 and a bit base attack with the godslayers GS. With the fire charm talisman that attack rating becomes 910. If you have jump talisman than that's +15% more dmg, so that's like 1025 or something. Put the charged attack on and a full charge is like 1500 or so. Throw in golden vow and flame grant me str and rhe magick potion flame, you can buff this thing into a couple thousands for 40-60 seconds. The AoW tho if you get both hits is like 1000's of dmg too. Also since this is a weapon swings a lot, if you can free fight well ( no focus dot) you can swing and destroy mobs all around you

Both are great, I'd say godslayer is better for armored enemies + you can slightly stagger most mob enemies a little each hit so you can chain attacks continuously till they dead unless they real fast on their feet and dip between swings.

I have more faith than dex because I also want to use spells effectively with the weapon, you can maximize dex instead for more AR but imo the difference is negligible since we already have high dex anyway, so I like taking the faith route. The reason I have a shield is because it has vow of the indomitable on it, it's super easy to avoid waterfowl with that ash of war.

It was made by Iji which is said by someone his weapons were never sharp, always blunt, but still absolutely destroyed. It's not conventional weapon. Also it's not necessarily forward heavy, the handle could be much heavier than the thin coiling parts at the end

@@jankonopasek6534 it was way easier, I died maybe three times, Elden ring platforming is easy once you realise you’re meant to walk off parallel to the ledge you want to land on and that you can fall more consistently by hitting walls, caelid divine towers intended route was way harder for me to figure out than the frenzied flame one

It shines best with a fingerprint shield in higher levels, I run it on my 300+characters. The guard counters help solve the issue of the speed of basic attacks leaving you open and taking counter damage 90% of the time you press the attack button. I also find using the guard counter damage talisman is not jeeded, as with 99dex and faith godslayer GCs wil do 1300+ raw damage.
