I'm not really a Godsmack fan. I'm not knocking them, it just really isn't my thing. With that being said, I have seen more than one video of them either sticking up for their fans, or showing their appreciation for their fans, and because of that, they'll always have my respect. A great band is not always defined on how they sound. Mad respect

Sully is just a solid dude all around. Guy can play any instrument like a boss and is super respectable. Personally godsmack was always my favorite and even named my daughter after his song "serenity" but he has another band called "sully erna band" that I like even better. It's more spiritual type music but sounds incredible and makes the hair on your neck stand up

Lots of rock/metal bands stick up for their fans. There's a bunch of videos floating around. There's one video of Slipknot stopping a show to make sure a fan got medical attention, and they wouldn't start back up until everything was ok. Dave Grohl is another example of someone who is genuinely a great guy to his fans.

Sully is a biker. I've found in my time that most bikers are very cool. I grew up in Mass and I have lived on the MA/NH border now for 20 years. I find that most bikers are good people. Sully is an example of that. I've been listening to Godsmack since 2001. The Other Side I consider their best album. To Sully and the band, You Guys are So Cool. Thank You for all of your music. Especially Running Blind and Serenity...

I met Godsmack at a meet-'n'-greet back in 2004. Wanted to show Sully and Shannon a pic of my drum kit. Sully jokingly said, "You need to get rid of those Zildjians, man." I didn't take offense to that. Got all four of them to sign my Faceless CD. Robbie even shook my hand after he signed it.

I love this video so much. The hat incident… pure class that Sully stopped the song to stick up for this kid. No fan left behind kinda mentality, just wanted to make sure his night didn’t get ruined or get his ass kicked by security. He understands that fans like to get a little wild at shows, it all comes with the territory. I’m sure he’s seen far worse things happen at his concerts. Plus the fact that he instructed the band to pick back up in verse 2 instead of restarting the song so as to not delay the stage time if there was another band to follow or something… just all around handled that the best way possible. Mad respect.

I would say the reason why I'm as good as I am today (which is nowhere near as good as I SHOULD be) is 25% practice, 25% learning, 50% the ability to learn super quick because of the natural talent that is hereditary to me. If that even makes sense.

ok so I been listenin to Godsmack since pretty much day1(my first CD ever was their first album, the self titled with the chick on the front been HOOKED ever since) I have seen Godsmack 2ce, first at Ozzfest2000 in Chicago(my first REAL concert, I was 12), and again in 2012 in Evansville Indiana, part of the Mass Chaos tour with Brookroyal, Halestorm, and Staind...BOTH epic fucking shows id go see Godsmack 300 more times if I could...they always been cool onstage...at Ozzfest 2000 ppl were rippin up grass n throwin it into the seats, Sully stopped said if yall don't calm down they gonna make us stop n nobody wants that....was badass....the second time I was fuckin front row n got to see them do the Batalla de Los Tambores!! that was the most epic shit EVER!!if you haven't seen em yet, GO you WILL NOT be disappointed!!

i was little more east in ohio at ozzfest 2000, 98,97 but yes the grass"sod" was the first thing to go , think Pantera more to blame that time, who cares though it was great i miss the early ozzfests , 97 ozzy didnt show up at [polaris im sure ya heard about that mess,i was 22 flipped on LSD afraid to move, like the last dude in the lawn just watching the riot ! getting my monies worth !!police made me leave, i had a driver to by the way

I'm not a fan of this genre of music, but I love that he stood up for the guy. There was no need to tackle him and hold him down. They could have simply held his arm and escorted him out for disturbing the concert. People do dumb things all the time, but it doesn't mean they should be physically assaulted because of it. Like he said, he didn't need a medic, he wasn't hurry, he had a freaking hat put on his head.
