I 💯 concur. After a decade of playing miniatures games and games like Aristeia, this one is definitely my top 5 for it's easy to play, inexpensive to collect, but hard to master mechanic.

You can, but 1vs1 is fun and you can do that straight out of the box.

I missed the KS, but I've bought everything that SFG made for this game so far bc it's worth EVERY PENNY. One of the greatest skirmish game imo with 4 classes and up to 24th Champions so far and going. Good stuff!

This is the best game. The minis are amazing to paint, even the followers are unique. It's easy to learn, taught my gf in one night, we use godtear to settle arguments now.

I've played dozens of miniatures game and this game is easy to learn, inexpensive to collect (even when I have them all) but very difficult to master. TILE placements matters alot to create/surround "perimeter" to block out followers, banner positioning to achieve points, knowing which target is definitely a priority from 2v2 to 3v3 Champions also changes things. Very very impressive game.

This is our convention hotel room game, heck we have gone to a convention for a totally different game, never playing that game and getting in trouble for taking up table space. One tournament we had more people watching us or getting a demo game in, than were watching the tournament final. Godtear's simplicity and careful character development has kept the game well balanced across three release cycles now, in fact the third release cycle helped make some of the weaker first wave releases viable. Currently there is one warband of twenty six warbands that is avoided during tournaments and drafts, that is Helena.
