Having played the game, the single player campaign is a brutal endeavor. ESPECIALLY if you're going for that high score, good grief. But the game itself, while clunky, is very much a love letter to Godzilla. And a well-researched one, on top of that. Some of the monsters have abilities that were originally going to be in the films, but were left unused (most notable examples would be Gigan and MG Showa's flamethrowers). I'd say that its successor (Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters / Kaiju Daikessen) is a much more fleshed out game in terms of combat. Though that would be obvious, because the Turbo Duo only had 2 buttons you could use... And one of them was for jumping. :P A very enjoyable game, and a fun review at that MIB!

Loved Primal Rage! A childhood classic. I’m surprised that they didn’t go anywhere else with the franchise. A great concept which sadly wasn’t built upon more.

If you find it's sequel, Gojira - Kaijuu Daikessen (aka Godzilla: Monster War), then you'll find your built-upon concept. It has a lot more in-depth moves and interactions for each kaiju, as well as better visuals (in my opinion). It's on the SNES and was Japan-only, and the cost of that and its better gameplay was half the roster of kaiju. But in my opinion, it's the 2nd best Godzilla game, 2nd only to Godzilla Save The Earth.

I got the game the day it came out, took a week to get to my home, you could only get it trough mail order for some reason, TTI did this with the last games, I loved the game, before that I only had the nintendo one and Super Godzilla, but finally being able to play it was incredible and created wonderful memories, once you know the secrets of every character you will feel as the King of monsters, you just need to be patient, you need that to paint too...

Do Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee next. I just got that and it is so fun! Use the cheat codes online so you can unlock all of the characters early. The cheat codes are really easy to get and really worth it

Hey, if you hated this games story mode, I would recommend: "Godzilla: Kaijuu Daikessen", this games sequel. It was a Japan-release only, and compared to this game, it's leagues better (in most aspects). You get higher-quality art work for both the monsters and stages, each monster has SO MANY more moves, the has so much more depth and strategy to it now, and each kaiju is as accurately represented as they could be. Hell, I would even say this game has the most accurate video game adaptation of Showa Era Mechagodzilla! However, the price to pay for these amazing upgrades is a bit staggering at first: the roster is essentially cut in half, to 9 kaiju + 2 unlockable bosses, and the sound quality is a bit lower than Battle Legends due to it going on the SNES. But honestly, the cost is fair enough, as Godzilla Kaijuu Daikessen is not only my favorite 2D Fighter, but it's slowly starting to become my favorite Godzilla game ever. I've played through this game multiple times in the 1 player mode on an emulator. I don't mind only being able to play as Godzilla. It's a challenge, but I've gotten through it and it's pretty fun IMO. It's pretty rewarding making it through.

I know someone's already said it but I'm gonna give my 2 cents anyway, but review Kaijuu Daikessen. It's literally this, with all but 3 secret monsters available in 1 player. Granted the roster is smaller but you love Godzilla Domination which had a smaller roster too. Give it a go. It is tough at first, but with practice, I was able to one credit it. It's my favorite G game with Save the Earth, PS4 and Domination.

There's a sequel to this game on the Super Famicom! It's Godzilla: Monster Wars, released in 1994. It has more playable monsters in the single-player mode, an easier fighting system, and it's one of those rare Godzilla game sequels that keep the genre of it's prequel! It's also rumored that there was going to be a 1995 American release called Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters, but it wasn't ever done for some reason. Could this game and therefore Battle Legends be a sort of prequel series to the Pipeworks trilogy? BTW, can't wait to see you do Godzilla: Unleashed! Please give this request a chance and make a video on this game!

so the AI for this game is basically the AI in hyper dragon ball z arcade mode. it's not easy at all, even in the easiest mode, and does not let you familiarize with it by being easier in the first battles. some characters have advantages or disadvantages on others, but that's it. the biggest pain in the ass i've had there was with Vegeta. ALL he did was spam his ki blast and just some hits, but that's it.and i barely could attack, because speed is real high in this game, and i know only a single combo, since i didn't have the chance to practice much.

Japan kinda got it for the SNES; it was called Gojira - Kaijuu Daikessen (aka Godzilla: Monster War), it cut the roster size in half, but in return we got a much more balanced roster of monsters, with more moves than in Battle Legends, and more in-depth mechanics.
