He is so cute! I had an iguana a long time ago and it's weird how a lizard really does have a personality and shows love towards their owner. They really love affection and for you to rub their heads. My iguana used to fall asleep on my shoulder. I got him when he was just a tiny thing and then he grew to be about 6 feet, including his tail.

Thanks, it took about 7 yrs to train him to voice commands but usually it takes a couple years to train them how to be and act as a pet they are very smart reptiles, my female then Babygirl learned even faster cause she learned from him and me what words meant :)

yea its all about him letting everyone know this is his home, he may think theres another ig running around so he is displaying so the other ig will run off, its normal just try not to let him see the mirror again cause it can start to trigger his aggression & worry him about if he is safe in his home that can lead to stress then he may not learn as well but it sounds like your doing great with him so keep it up! :) oh & some stores will order greens you want if u ask them too

I had one a few years back, he was about 5 years old. Saw a mirror just like that and did the same thing. It was like a switch went off in his head, and from that day on he was always very aggresive towards me. I had to give him up to a rescue. He use to love bathtime just like yours. But he would jump up on our bed and run accross and leap at me in the air to attack me. The only thing that changed was him seeing himself in the mirror that time.

yep its so easy to really get attached to them they are amazing animals, takes a long time to get over losing one even more if you have to put them to sleep, always miss them

This is so crazy! I used to have a male iguana named Godzilla that looked like and was very nice and tame and acted just like this one that a friend of my mother's gave to us because she was moving to another state and could not take him but I gave him up to someone that I thought could better care for him but then that person gave him to someone else who they thought could take even better care of him.

yea some igs dont understand what a tub is so either let them hold onto a flat rock or stick or your hand so they can relax it might take some time but as he gets bigger he might feel safer, they naturally go in water to hide their scent from other animals in the wild, after they go rinse them off then run another warm bath with clean water but only half way up their side

yea he thinks ur going to eat or hurt him, give him time to adjust cause igs dont like change also give him time, also they reall need a hidebox to take away stress he can't learn if he is stressed out, try giving him warm baths, hand feeding, also walk him around in ur hand to let him see things to give him something else to see & do, look him in the eye but the second he looks back close ur eyes then slowly open & close them afew times to show him your relaxed so he should be too

yes he was trained to voice commands & real nice until 7yo he went into season turned orange & 1 day i was on the floor petting my female & he ran over grabbed my ankle & ripped me down to the bone so fast i couldn't stop him he was 1 of the rare ones who never came back out of season & during the day he attacked me everyday for the rest of his life, Binty went into season at 1yo & started bitting everyone but we have found thru our rescue work that if u "fix" them before 3-5yo it can stop it
