I love how everyone is right in this debate in some way. Godzilla has a very valid point about themes but he takes himself/the genre too damn seriously. Zilla is also correct in that most of the genre is also very very silly and made to sell merch and yes sometimes I just wanna watch silly rubber dinosaurs slap each others tiddies it makes my inner five year old girl happy and I buy the action figures. And poor Rodan is aware that both are right but is just kinda stuck in the middle and likes to poke the egotistical asshole with a stick. All the while being incredibly funny with INSANELY expressive animation and background gags that got a good snort out of me.

@fireironthesecond29092 жыл бұрын
Well let’s go back to the basics. What did the original Godzilla mean? He was a warning against nuclear weapons. A message to those who wished to start WW3 from the only nation that has ever suffered a nuclear bomb. A way to show that yes, humanity now has this power and it can never be uninvented. And what did the newest Godzilla (that wasn’t just about destroying 💩) mean? A warning that while governments are slow and inactive and will make catastrophic mistakes they will more often than not prioritise their civilians and pour their absolute heart and soul into making up for their inevitable mistakes. It was based off the Fukushima disaster and more importantly the government’s (not just the Japanese but the international community’s) response to it. I suppose Godzilla is just a stand in for the absolute worst possible scenario, be it natural or manmade, and that’s probably why he’s lasted so long because while the worst possible scenario will always change the fact that there will be worst possible scenarios will never change.

Would have been funnier if it was true. As it stands, it comes across as bitterness that "why cant we all get along and stop placing Godzilla on a pedestal". Like so many of the other spineless fans who cant handle conflict and differing viewpoints. This video reminds me of anytime I have a debate with someone on Godzilla vs (insert character or franchise here) and they begin to resort to "WELL YOU JUST THINK THAT BECAUSE YOU'RE BIASED AND A FANBOY" whenever I've cornered them with something they can't fathom. One of the examples being a debate on a who would win between Godzilla and another Giant Monster from another series. I provide statistics and calculations while they provide a general guess of the power level of their choice and when they see what I've come up with they go "You're wanking tf out of Godzilla" or some sort of indirect denial of it so they dont have to actually try and debate it, knowing theyll lose. I've seen enough of this fanbase the last 14 or so years to know a valid critique. This video had some, but most of them were undoubtedly based in Vrahno's own RECENT bitter experiences and not entirely objective. A true critique of the Godzilla fanbase would be that we behave like (as an autistic person myself) a bunch of autistic people masquerading as aspiring critics and artists. What we have forgotten over the years is how to ACTUALLY ENJOY being a fan and are eternally locked into a sense of unhappiness despite the series being in an all time high of relevance and popularity. We care too much about what others think, and the absolute worst thing to happen to us and the series itself ironically was it becoming mainstream in 2014. The best thing that happened to Godzilla and his fans was also the worst thing. As a niche fandom we enjoyed relative prosperity and a unitedness with very few disagreements as we all shared the same passion once upon a time. Then we had the casuals and new fans who didnt have the same experiences growing up knowing Godzilla was niche and not well received by adults come in and pollute the fanbase until it became what it is today. I remember the days when Godzilla fans didnt care about anything other than Godzilla and left each other to their own opinions. This fanbase - has eaten itself alive. The day the new fans came in and first started hating the old films for their oldness was the day the drinking well was well and truly poisoned.

The thing that is so painful about this whole thing is that Zilla isn’t wrong. All that was said here is basically what the Godzilla franchise has become to the world. Granted, the main purpose of Godzilla is still there, but like Zilla said, the different companies that have been working on the films over the years have seriously begun to milk the shit out of the purpose behind the monster. The fanbase of “literal and mental 5 year olds” is accurate as well. I can see why Godzilla would find it hard to accept that, as his title of “King of the Monsters” is something he should be proud of, but at the same time something that he should be rethinking due to how much overuse his series has been through. Zilla accurately explained the fanbase and status of the Godzilla series here, and it’s honestly a little painful to think about.

Don’t get me wrong, both characters do have good qualities, but, are often overshadowed by such cheap writing by said toxic fans.

@darktooth45762 жыл бұрын
@@regalos31 i guess it depends on who’s actually writing the character. I only pointed it out from the vantage point of other people who may have a logical reason on why these “OP” characters (by the standpoint of the toxic fans that have crazed beliefs in said character always winning) couldn’t win in various fights against certain characters. Let’s be honest, it would get boring if we saw the same character win without any rational question as to why. Regardless of prep time or just because the character literally has “god” in their name doesn’t mean they should always be enlightened with plot armour. Granted this could apply to any character outside of the two i formerly mentioned, as long as it’s an actual fair fight, being OP is alright if the underpowered character has a few advantages that the OP character doesn’t see right away. That sort of balance is what keeps fighting scenarios at a good level. And not because someone at one point learned that using the same tactics akin to a video game’s cheat codes for a pop culture character in movies and TV shows would be a good idea to justify why their favourite character must always come on top.

I live for this godly content, makes waiting for the next animation short worth the wait. I love the expressions and cartoony antics you give the characters that we normally wouldnt see on the big screen, it gives them more life.

Zilla should’ve said “you don’t wanna dislocate a dorsal plate for patting herself on the back”

You'd heard in the comments in part 1, but pretty soon we'll be seeing the last part being renamed "Godzilla Gets a Academy Award." Congratulations Takashi Yamazaki and those involved in the visual effects staff, you deserved it.

damn, whoever knew that a mutated iguana was able to completely destroy a million year old dinosaur. Honestly, Godzilla has pretty much been separated by what he used to mean, he used to mean the dangers of nuclear weapons (which was a real thing and still has the potential to be now) now, he’s just a giant radioactive dinosaur that kicks butt a being that doesn’t mean anything anymore. Only a few Godzilla’s got it right, like Shin, and 54 who were able to make Godzilla a tragic being. I believe that they should make Godzilla way more darker then what he is, as he can still teach us why Nuke=Bad.
@finchatforharambe9052 жыл бұрын
True kotm practically just shat on everything the og 54 meant
@khameriengibson19752 жыл бұрын
ok man at this point, with nukes having been around since the end of world war two and various nuclear war scares and the concerns of nuclear wars, we DON'T need edgy and dark commentary on why nukes are bad. that's something people are already plenty convinced of, or at this point, others won't ever be.
@justyouraverageeditor74832 жыл бұрын
@@khameriengibson1975 Movies can get messages across, The Og Godzilla represented the death and destruction caused by nuclear weapons, a fear that most people don’t even feel that much because of the advanced technology. We still need these to pass on the messages to more and more people, especially when Godzilla was made from a country that was devastated by two nuclear bombs back then.
@tf2freakshow8702 жыл бұрын
@@finchatforharambe905 Every Godzilla movie did that besides The Return of Godzilla 1984 and Shin Gojira 2016, i know Legendary Godzilla is to blame, but i wouldn't want to push the fault all in one version because the Showa Godzilla did the same and nobody gets punished for liking it, unlike us Legendary fans who get trashed everyday.

I thought the MV Goji meant like balance or the force/power of nature, not really tragic but still a meaning.

Jeez, never thought Zilla can easily destroy Godzilla’s mental mind that easily. Rodan couldn’t get to him, yet Zilla did and he deconstructed Godzilla down brick by brick.
