I love that "bow down or die" look Godzilla gave Rodan as the other Titans gathered around him after delivering the kill shot on the last Ghidorah head with his Atomic Breath. Also, if you don't recognize Dr. Ilene Chen or her sister Ling Chen....their actress, Ziyi Zhang played Hu Li in Rush Hour 2. I also *LOVE* that they recycled the Toho Studios Godzilla theme music and roars for this movie.

what most people dont realize here is that this was actually a homage to the old godzilla films. and they tweaked it a little bit. dr.serizawa instead of killing godzilla using the oxygen destroyer, he actually used a nuke to save godzilla this time, and mothra instead of sacrificing herself to save ghidorah, and got killed by godzilla, this time she sacrificed herself to save godzilla from ghidorah.

I don't give a damn what the critics say, it's just a great movie and the best Godzilla at all for me (haven't seen G -1 yet tho). There's so much heart, soul, drama and epicness here, and the visuals, McCreary's score and design of the monsters are just stunning. One of the most tragically underrated films of the decade.

I haven't paid attention to critics for the last 4 decades,..two movies I just decided to go see on a weekend, The Thing, and first Terminator movie,..and later that night, when it was Siskel and Ebert, weekly show on, one didn't like Terminator, think Ebert was a fan of scifi, but thing was too much for him at the time,..and after that I put critics down, cause both those movies blew me away,..imaginative, and both along with Alien, changed the face of scifi,..so critics aren't the best sources for recommending a good movie,..word of mouth, friends, family if any, or just use your own judgment,..if you like scifi, go see it, or horror, or action,..usually for most of the movies I've seen I used my own judgment, and it's my dime anyway, and my time to waste, or not,..been a long time fan of Godzilla and the monsterverse,..when the 2014 one came out,..I couldn't believe it,..had no idea it was coming out,..was like a kid on Christmas,..hadn't seen anything since the 1998 version, and the new versions are beyond my wildest dreams,..so glad they've revived them,..Godspeed, Peace ✌

When you said Ghidorah reminded you of the dragons with folktales i really related to that. I am Bulgarian, and my parents raised me on stories of the Lamia and Hala. And it fits with the movie's theme of myths being the compass.

I live in New England (for foreign viewers Boston is practically the capital of New England) so when I saw this in a packed IMAX the scene when Bradley Whitford said “It’s about to be a very bad day to be a Red Sox fan” EVERYONE at once screamed NOOOOOOOOO!!! And it sucked for me because in the first movie Godzilla and the MUTO’s destroyed San Francisco which is where I was born and in this movie they destroyed what is practically the cathedral of New England, Fenway Park.😢😢 As for the movie itself I honestly don’t know why this movie wasn’t a billion dollar hit. Not a single person in the theater had nothing but fun watching this movie. Also the end credits song with the Godzilla song adaptation by the lead sing of System Of A Down freaking SLAPS! And the line “history shows again and again that nature has been the folly of man” REALLY a hit hard during 2020.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters was definitely the best movie of 2019, and it was no doubt at all, a very great sequel to 2014's Godzilla, in honor of Godzilla’s 65th anniversary! It definitely proved to be better than the 2014 film, and it had more monster action and more screen time with Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan. It was surprising, and yet it makes sense to see that the MonsterVerse/Legendary Godzilla has evolved and changed over the course of 5 years after 2014, and he looks more classic, especially with having his original 1954 counterpart's shaped dorsal fins.
