@@michaelc.8712 You're not wrong and even the magazine which is Japanese from an interview from one of the designers mentioned they based Rodan after Quetzalcoatlus. However, looking at the first form (the red version) looks more like a Pteranodon with a Ramphorhynchus tail than a Quetzalcoatlus.

@@eggsygetrekt5655 It's too large to be a Pteranodon specifically, but it is based on Pterosaurs. It's worth noting that most of the kaijus in this show are whole species (like these Rodans and the Mandas) except for a couple of exceptional individuals (like Godzilla and Anguirus). The plot is about how they're all competing to take advantage of a space-time paradox that's on a loop and that speeds up their evolution.
